Snip 3/8" off of the dipstick and sell it!

.....or swap it out for a good oil pan and sell that one to Dom!

Walmart issued me a check for 800 dollars for a new oil pan cuz they stripped the plug.
Its a big job..... so I been told

When the car was in the auction or impound, whatever lifted the car got the pan, causing the damage.
Now I have to replace the oil adapter gasket that's leaking.
I almost don't want to sell this thing now after working on it so long

Do what my friend did to his 4.1L Cadillac. The oil pump had to be replaced, the only way to do this was to remove the engine. He wasn't having it so he cut the bottom of the oil pan out, replaced the pump, then re-welded the pan back together.
You could have done that with a cheap used pan and a welder.

We did the exact same thing on a Mach 1 we were working on. I had the owner jack it up but he knew nothing about cars. Jacked it up by the oil pan and dented it bad. We did almost the exact thing you did with a block of wood and welded on a bar. Worked great.

That pan is hammered though. Damn. Can these be swapped out with the engine in place?

Unfortunately not.
You can drop the aluminum crossmember though!
