count me in!!!!! I belong to the Rt. 66 Ass'n of Illinois and did a fair amount of chickin' eatin' before now......haven't been there for awhile.....looking forward to it.....it'll be better with Marauders in the parking lot. Is there going to be VIP parking for DTR's???? LOL!

read this forum,pages 3 and 4 and see what happened last time any of us went there,back in 2008 when I got my DTR and suggested the dump.:mad2:
Let me put it this way,I wouldn't go back there again if they gave me whatever I wanted from their menu to eat and filled my MM's empty gas tank up with 103 octane premium for free!

My nephew is a union electrician in the 'burbs and did a lot of work @ Del Rhea's a few yrs ago. He states when they pulled the electrical box out of the wall, there was a cockroach eruption that made Mount Etna pale in comparison! Needless to say, that establishment was crossed off his list for a meal!!!
 
Cockroachs are like the free fortune cookies you get with your Chinese food. Only difference being, the roaches taste better.

That's what we used to post when we invited others to a "Chicken Run". Was no rhyme or reason to it, we just felt a need to hang out with other car guys.

This was a local event I started back in2003. Hosted at Del Rhea's Chicken Basket along old Rt. 66 in Willowbrook, Il., it's not hard to find and I'll give directions to anyone who needs them. BTW, a section of original Rt. 66 pavement remains close by, and its great for pics and burnouts.

We (JustBob and me) talked about resurrecting this old meet, and we agreed that it was time to try it again, at least one more time.

Mark your calendars for May 20th, 1 PM in Del Rhea's parking lot. In the old days, we spent about 2-3 hours in this generous lot shooting the bull over our cars (boy, we are good at that) and other stuff. However, no idiot stuff by the restaurant. That's what got us kicked out a few years back.

So...Looking forward to hooking up with y'all. All hot rods are welcome, this meet is to open to everyone (hear me Uncle Lar?). Let's get it restarted, and do it right this time.

Sunday, May 20th, 1 PM, lunch by 3 PM.

Uncle Lar, may not be the place to eat anymore but we could use their parking lot to meet up and decide from there. White Fence Farm is just a few minutes down the road, so is The Patio for BBQ. I am open to any suggestions, lets at least restart the "chicken run" as a local meet?

It will be great to see some old friends, and meet some new friends.

Mac,That ought to work,we can meet up and decide or maybe somebody will have a good suggestion for someplace good we can just go straight to and meet & eat.
I'm looking forward to it,heck,you've never seen me in a MM yet,and a DTR makes even me look not too bad,lol. :coolman:
