I think I hate my exhaust

For the first time today I really paid attention to what my car sounded like and I'm not happy. I let a buddy of mine drive it so I could hear it. Big mistake. Now something must be done.

All I've changed on the stock exhaust are the mufflers and removed 2nd cats. I ha e magnaflows. [emoji31]

You think you hate yours? My car has straight pipes and flo-pros (not my doing) To top it off, something in that mess blew apart last night and now there's some annoying flapping/smacking sound.

First, what kind of intermediate pipe do you have: X-pipe or H-pipe? That can change the sound dramatically. Next, are your tips resonated? And last, what kind of sound are you really looking for? Violent and aggressive, or mellow and muffled?

I have what I thought was mellow, but when you get on it, it sounds funny. Inside the car it sounds pretty good, outside not so well. Others say it sound good. I disagree. I think it's all the exhaust trying to escape thru the skinny 2 1/4" pipes. It's all stock except mufflers and rear cats deleted.
I'm sorry..........I think it's my fault? ;)
It's not all your fault, but you do play a role in this. I was against the deep aggressive sound until I heard yours. Now I'm leaning more towards it. If you don't mind, send me some pics of your exhaust, I think I may start ordering some pipes soon.

I loved the sound of Isabelle when she had just delta 50 flowmasters. Loud enough to get your attention but not loud enough to attract attention. Now I have SWLT's and their high flow cats and the exhaust is raspy and way too loud. Im switching to Borla ProXS mufflers in the next week or so. We'll see what happens.

I had the exact same muffs early on and loved them till I added headers and an X... That lasted maybe a week. I added 18" magnaflows and all raspiness at all RPMs GONE. I now wish I would have just kept this set up!

I can definitely relate to the Exhaust woes! After selling the Stainless works exhaust I'm going to do a custom 3" T304 Stainless exhaust with Vibrant Vband clamps at the headers , and mufflers , my setup will consist of Magnaflow 4"X14" round resonators off of the headers (in place of the cats) either an X pipe , or Magnaflows X pipe muffler , and Magnaflow 22"X5"X11" mufflers , yes i want my exhaust as quiet as i can possibly get it.

Because my setup is totally, completely, and utterly shot, I'm finally changing out to the Black Widow Venoms and X-pipe this week. I'll post a video when it's done, you might like the sound. Black Widows have a really unique tone to them.

I actually love the stock marauder sound. I would hate to have my car sound like every ***ty mustang. I hate exhaust crackle/gurgle. There are several tunnels in pittsburgh and i caught my MM at the right RPM tonight while going through them and it sounded sweet.

Stock mufflers do sound good. I heard a silver at Mo's and was like wow that sounds good. I wonder what it would sound like with 3" piping and no resonators in the tips
