Is everyone sick of their Marauders?!?!

Please correct me if I am wrong, but did we have five members sell their cars in a week time? Why is everyone getting rid of their cars? The only guy I know still active as ever with Marauders isn't even allowed to post here!!! (no pun intended believe it or not)

The Marauder can do it all, there is no replacement. We can run 12s, hold our friends and family, go to work, haul the groceries, be safe and maintain for dirt cheap costs!! All in the same day! There were a few days I would put 2K worth of food in my car for work, wash it, go racing at the track, bring my friends and look for more racing well into the night after the track was closed. All in the same day. What other car are you going to do that with? A Ram SRT10 quad? Good luck finding cheap parts for that when you break a tensioner 600 miles from home.

God I feel old. I have now seen members come and go. Not too many stick around, I guess it like that with any car club over the years. I know we have active members that have been around from the early days 02-04 and there have been plenty other members that have joined sense then that I am glad to have in my life. I have just noticed a lot more going then ever. First everyones crashing their cars beyond repair now everyone is ditching them. :shake:

I will have mine the rest of my life. Please tell me I am not the only one.

I've read most of the posts from members who have sold or selling their Marauders. The reasons are not uniform nor should this be considered unusual.

There are more than 4500 members on this site of which only a few regularly post at any one time, I suspect many of the "missing" members have sold their Marauders.

Our site founder has acquired and sold his Marauders several times. We see Marauders on ebay, craiglist, dealerships for sale all the time. As many as six at once.

New members join all the time but their Marauders have been owned by several people.

What still surprises me is that some of the cars have so few miles and were garaged during these years.

I share Dom's theology, a Marauder should be driven and often.

Regards,

Not goin anywhere..

BUT..

I did offer the GF to sell it along with her Focus to get a new Ford Edge, and she said NO, she loves the MM :D and will keep her 110K mileage Focus, and only drive the MM on nice days.

Why would I sell? Bought mine 1 1/2 years ago, with 59320, now with 70,580, cruising on the highway about 85 is my favorite.............

I bought mine with the intention of keeping it untile the wheels fall off!And the fact that I just spent the money on a new motor for mine says it all.I could have sold it as is and lost money. But I have way to much fun with the car and the people that also have them.So Lets get it on! Now I know people have to sell for various reasons, and that is unfortunant.I am not judging anyone for that!We can still be friends... :)

Calm down Henny Penny!
Some car enthusiasts get bored with a car after some years of ownership and buy something different and more interesting to them.
That's OK.
Others prefer to keep their cars for a lonnnng time.
I would be one of the latter.

Mine not going anywhere. And since it's a DTR. It's not going anywhere fast. Hahahahaha. I love my MM. Were are inseparable. Like my dingy and my thingys. :)

After being pretty much a garage queen for the last 2 years, I recently drove the Marauder daily for about 3 weeks and I'm convinced it "ain't going no where."

Mine is a garage queen as well but that doesnt mean I dont enjoy it. I usually drive mine on the weekend but Im not planning on ever using it as a daily driver. When I took it to get inspected last week the guy was kinda shocked at the 19k miles on a seven year old car but thats just fine with me. Ive driven to three Maraudervilles (and am still pondering this years event) and that always adds a few thousand miles. As for selling it, Im not planning on it but basically everything I own is for sale.

Not sick of my car....and just as important to me, not sick of the car club. To the contrary, I enjoy my car even more than when I ordered it brand new(or should I say Mr. Man ordered it for me). I had no idea what I was getting except that it was going to have a lot more horsepower than my Crown Vic. I immediately discovered a huge positive difference in my daily commute.....and even bone stock I loved it! Really never met any other Marauder owners (in fact rarely ever saw any Marauders at all) in my area. A few people would see it and say "Wow! That's one of those really fast supercharged Mercuries!" I couldn't enlighten them 'cause I still had no idea what I had. :o Finally, I joined MM.net (kicking and screaming) at the insistence of Mr. Man. What the heck am I doing on a forum full of car guys? I didn't know a CAI from a control arm!

Sloooowly, I began to learn something about my car. And wanted to learn more....and more. Eventually I went to a CAM meet in Hanover, PA (kicking and screaming) at the insistence of Mr. Man. We'll be kidnapped and sold into slavery, I just know it. That meet was the beginning of my real love affair with my Marauder....and my appreciation of the other men and women who loved them too.

Meeting the faces behind the screen and learning first hand about the car was a real turning point. We took the next step and went to a weekend meet in Gettysburg and met even more of the members whom we enjoy to this day. Another milestone occurred when we went to the regional meet in Louisville. There were Marauders everywhere....and the chance to hang with some of the MM.net rock stars. (actually we already knew lot's of these rock stars already). My faith in the opinions of these guys, gave me the courage to get my car tuned by our former member, Zack. To date his tune is the best thing that has happened to my car. My driving enjoyment went through the roof.

Sick of my Marauder???? Absolutely not!! Mr. Man and I have gone on to embrace all that the car and the club has to offer. In fact, I retired my 2004 SB as my daily driver in an effort to ensure it will be around to take to MM.net meets for many years to come. Mr. Man (my original inspiration for buying a Marauder) recently bought one for himself. I owe this all to him. We are both endlessly grateful to Mary and all of the MM.net owners, whose dedication and passion
keep the lights on here. And grateful to the huge number of amazing Marauder owners/enthusiasts who generously share their experiences and expertise and help us stay in touch with why we love this car. And most of all, to all those members we have meet over the years who welcomed us into the Collective, and even more..... who have become personal friends. Thank you all for turning a great car into a great hobby....that I get to share with the other love of my life.

Some people like the same car and house forever others like to drive different rides. I like this car but can never say I will not drive something else in the future. Its really been a joy to drive.
