Is the Marauder a Family Sedan?

I was having a talk with a friend of mine last week about this. He was telling me how I will have to get rid of the Marauder when I decide to start a family. I told him I am never getting rid of the car first off and second it has the room already. Plus a family is years away, so being ready isn't a concern.

He said "Maybe it's big enough, but you cannot drive kids around in a big toy." hahaha that was funny, but I disagree. If the car was stock I would say he's nut's, but the soon to be high 11 second daily driver... is a daily toy. Said I would set a bad example for the kids the way I drive and they would follow my immaturity. He knows me well doesn't he?

Well I see it the other way around. I would never put my kids lives in danger and would never race with them in the car UNLESS it's at the track and I'm making a 15 second run. From my understanding if you show you kids the ropes from day one when to be serious and when to have fun they are better drivers. I know that's a little off topic here.

Still does the Marauder fit your family? Those of you with kids that cannot drive yet.

I take my kids in the Marauder and they have a blast.....I agree....it is a family sedan with some muscle behind it...and it is prolly one of the safest cars out there.

Just don't put a carseat on the leather without a protector of some sort. It will destroy the seat the first time you do it.

I'm too much of a hideous chud to be having a family, but I have had my best friends family in the car. He likes the power and I think his wife enjoyed the rumble. (wink wink, nudge nudge, say no more) I once even stuffed myself, 4 other adults and 4 little ones into the car for a short drive. I wouldn't recommend that kind of torture to anyone here.

In all seriousness, yes it certainly can be a great family car if that's what you decide to use it for.

What would you rather your kids see: you enjoying yourself, or your anger at having to slave a 17 second turd through traffic barely being able to merge onto a highway?

It's fine

As an Automobile just watch what you do with it and it. It's one of the safer ones out there. Let me repeat...just watch what you do with it.

I've had 2 car seats in my MM since the day I got it. I sold my 525i because my boys had little leg room in the back. They love "daddy's black car". This is where you don't mind the 4200lbs....big & safe.
Oh, and don't forget the cavernous trunk folks. I can fit my kids' bikes in there! Couldn't do that in my QX4.

My daughter was 5 years old when I got the MM.

Loved it then. Loves it now.

"Hey Daddy. can we take 'Zoom'?"

:D

I would not call that person a friend.
Marauder fits my family well. The girls and Amy say it too big of a car for short people to drive, and the girls think the 'vette is too loud. I just have to figure out how to keep Amy out of the 'vette. :nono:

Dom, you are one of the many people out there that should not reproduce, so this question is irrelevent.

are you implying that i should NOT be driving my marauder in the rain!??!

There have been a LOT of accidents in these cars while driving in the rain.

Some repairable. Some not.

Make sure tires are good with proper inflation and be damn careful!

Mike.

I have seen our family go from child seats to driving the Marauder.
There were times after Katrina/Rita that I lived in the Marauder and used it as an office with file boxes, printer/scanner, lap top and allowed clients to use it as an office.

I've got three carseats in mine and it is driven daily. I wanted a fun family sedan.
