low RPM problem

when light accelerating from 40 MPH or so in heavy traffic between 1000-1500 RPM the MM seems to bog down. I can deal with it in a couple of ways by either giving it more gas or turning off the O/D which brings up the RPM.
Could it be as simple as the gas I am using? I use 91 octane (which is all that is available anywhere around here) at the local El Cheapo gas station.
 
Do you have a tune? Factory tuning runs thru the gears to get to OD ASAP. And then goes back and forth almost always like it is searching. That was done in the fuel economy department. I would suggest getting a tune from our vendor MOs speed shop which will add.20 hp but also change up the shifting and OD lockup

Sounds like a classic symptom of your DPFE (integrated into the EGR) they get water in them and exhibit the bucking at light throttle pressure in 4th..

You could take if off and get the water out, there are 2-3 small vaccum lines that connect to it. Remove it slap it in your hand and notice the water come out -- you may have to get a new EGR assembly. I think they are around $90..

I'll bet you that's what it is...

(Also what is oniell equipped?)
