Lower intake meth injection install

Blown3.8

Mr. Hankey
Gonna see how the meth cools the IAT when installed post blower, intercooler. We didn't see any reduction in temps with a single 625ml in one of the vacuum ports of the blower inlet. The cobra guys don't see any temp reductions either.

Looks cool, but it would do more good pre-intercooler where the methanol can pull the heat out of the boost charge and evaporate. Keep us posted on your data logs.

We saw zero temp reduction pre blower/ IC. There was a guy on the mustang boards that was supposed to set one up post blower, pre IC, But I haven't seen any results on that.

On my bird i have a jet about 5" before the IAT sensor and see approximately a 50* temp reduction.

I am real interested to see what the temp reduction is. Its mainly being setup so we can just run the race tune on the street with street gas.

On the turbo buicks we spray the methanol just before the throttle plate. However, it doesnt have to fight through a blower and intercooler on those cars. I think you will see a drop in your temps in the intake on your setup. If you dont I would be surprised.

I would think post blower, pre I/C would surely be the most effective spot For it. I know Steigemeir really pushes it at his shop, on multiple occasions He has showed me some good results he got with it on several GT500's. Definetly a good way to help keep things safe if installed correctly & tuned right. Only thing I seem to hear is the few users who had problems & ussually it.s a result of Tank capacity & running out cause they failed to keep from even nearing the empty factor. Curious to see what it ends up doing for His car.

Let us know how this works out, what are the Mililiters on the four nozzles and what Methanol/Water percentage are you going to use. Is the system set up to turn on and off from boost or is it progressive by the mass air meter?

Like you said earlier, if it does not reduce temps, atleast it will add octane enrichment.

One concern I see is the pluged center port. Is there any worry of a intercooler leak or maybe a stuck on meth pump that would fill up your intake maniflold to the point that it would hydrolock the motor?

Nah, no worries of IC leak. If it leaked I don't think the PCV hose would help any it would just circulate the water to the inlet of the blower and possibly to the valve covers too. If the IC leaks its bad no matter the setup.;)

The total ML is about 1000. I run 50/50 mix. And use the MAF voltage for the activation. If it quenches with the 50/50 may just go to a more Meth mix so the mixture burns.

Bad ass!! You will see excellent results as compared to pre-blower.

Just make sure your fittings are very secure so they don't get blown out with the boost.

50/50 is the best mix to run. I tried several different ratio's over the years when I ran meth through my fox.

I run 100% meth in my bro's set up pre blower, I really wanted it for the octane and help reduce any chances of carbon tracking........

This was Lidio's set up on his mach 1 he stated that the IAT temps were so cool he didn't beleive them...........

The IAT getting hit by the meth makes the temp lower, but it doesn't necessarily mean that the power blower temp has been reduced by 50 degrees.

Is it done yet? Just kidding. Looking forward to seeing the results and what it can do in the hot summer months also.

1000 mL might quench the spark, I have not seen that much go into a small motor. A progressive controller that can ramp up the duty cycle will help with that. Not sure if your MAF controller is set up for that though.

Snow recomends 50/50 mix to cover there butts because the jug of mix becomes flamable with higher ratios of Methonal. Test have shown that 50 mix is suposively the best because water has a high latent heat of vaporization and dentonation prevention. If you want just the octane run it straight, I'm sure you would see a temp drop just fine, but be carful that the staight meth does not somehow preignight in the manifold from a backfire or something.

Let us know how its going.:burnout:
