ok ive have search and couldnt find much on manual trans swap for my 03 marauder. im looking to find out if it can be done, how hard the install and the modifications to be done for the floor counsle, also if anyone has a basic part list that you can post or share. i also thought about what trans would be best for the weight of the car and hold enough power for a cobra motor swap, what would be the best setup a 5 speed or 6 speed. If there is a fourm memeber that knows someone or done this post pic. thanks

There are two that I know of. One is in Canada and one that DR just completed, though that one took a very long time IIRC.

I believe Canada is a 5spd, but he is also a member here. I do not recall his name.

DR's was a 6spd.

My local shop has converted a crown Vic to a manual and they did not seem to think it was a huge deal ... but there is work involved.

Parts list, ... I will let someone more knowledgable chime in, cause I will likely be wrong. =)

DRs 6spd is also covered on the Crownvic.net site too.

Eaton Swap + 4.10's = Wreeeeeeeeeedom!!

For one thing, the MM weighs a lot more than a Mustang, which makes it much easier to break stuff with a manual, especially with a blower.

why havent more memeber done this? you would think with the cobra most of its could be just transfer,

Most aren't willing to shill out the cash for a Viper spec Tremec and can't stomach the thought of possible breakage once done.

My ONLY issue is the fact that the Marauder is the family 3rd car and needs to be ready rain or snow to pull duty and Melanie has never been comfortable in a manual shift car. Otherwise, or if something changes, I will do it when I destroy my trans, if that will ever happen?? LOL

This is something I have been thinking about ever since got mine. It sounds very appealing to me. I did a simialr swap with my Mustang, but it does not have all the electronic issues. I will have to do more research.

How about you do it? Let us know now it goes.

I for one bought my Marauder for comfort....... shifting isn't my idea of comfort.

Iam with you. IMO putting a manual in my MM would ruin it. Not to mention like NA/SVT said, Heavy car & manual not a good mix. Member in Canada that did manual swap is Masters. Not for me besides a auto set up right is faster then a manual.

Yup, for speed and consistency, auto is the way to go.

Would be kinda fun shifting gears again, but yeah, I would certainly wreck stuff.

You must mean for drag racing. I have never gone down the 1/4 mile, but can see where it would work well in that application.

For canyon carving, and autocrossing, I find the auto frustrating to say the least.

Agreed, on both counts.
