Marauder Withdrawal - I'm driving a rental

"snip" I truly didn't realize that I was going that fast.....Oh well...such is life!!

You have to estimate about 10 mph for every foot of height over the MM seat level ... the sensation of speed is much less when you are sitting up 4 feet in the air.

My baby's in the shop for the next two days. I rented a "premium" car, which in Alamo speak is a 2004 Buick Lesabre Limited. I actually owned a Lesabre once, back in the early 80's. This car is a lot nicer. But, jeez, step on the accelerator and you realize you aint in Kansas any more, Dorothy. I can feel my arteries hardening when I drive this car.

Okay, I'll admit it. It cheeses me that I own a performance car with a ersatz oil pressure gage, when, in my rental car, you can push a button and get a real-time digital oil pressure reading.:mad2:

Ahh, I just might go slip into a pair of Sans-a-belt slacks and take my temporary Luv Boat out for a cruise around the neighborhood...

Donny, while my MM was in the body shop (5 weeks!!) my rental was an '04 Monte Carlo. It performed like a car but it was very boring. And, nowhere near the comfort, missing many of the ammenities and ...and....

Anyway, I understand exactly what you mean. I have been back in the saddle for five days now and it is fantastic. I had forgotten about the steering wheel buttons for the radio and AC system.

You'll live...try to think about driving your MM while you drive the Buick!

Absotively, tell 'em I sent you. Not sure that you will get much sympathy from the judge -- but what the heck -- 30 days ain't really that long.

Absolutely--Use what he says here ...hey..the judge isn't going to verify it --but it makes "quick" sence--thats all he is interested in if it appears to be factual..then it must be...especially if late in the day or just before lunch..
(just ask Martyo) ...and for add-ons---go get some signed statements from those working on your car that your not familiar with that "thing" your driving and in fact is WAS a RENTAL and put that together with the above statement--Judge gotta say - Dismissed----You know the phrase--"Behold the turtle--he only gets ahead if he sticks his neck out"---Go for it!!!!......Good luck.......Tom

Let me be the first of many here to welcome you aboard this site and BTW, just where are you located--N.America is a big place--State, City, etc..helps us all out ........and sorry 'bout that Dear hit!!! Believe ME... I kntow the feeling of having a damage MM.....Good luck..........Tom
Thank You Tom, It took me a while (about a week) to figure out how to respond to your reply :( Good thing I "m better with car's than computers ;) I didn't even look back at the deer as it passed in front of me I only clipped his rear quarter with my left front . If he was one step faster he would have only been creamed by the truck going the other way.:alone: Sorry Bambie!!. I saw the darn thing only 2 miliseconds before the impact and the poor thing careened into a large contractors truck headed the opposite direction . My co-workers had a field day with me about this . Auto Sales tough croud:help: .BTW the only reason I didn't get the road kill is there are no lights or shoulders to speak of .I was concerned for safety (MINE) and where would I carry it? To be honest I was so shook up, I took it as a sign . Not to take things for granted . Any way they(body shop ) fixed the MM ok a little over spray on hood swirl marks on top of bumper cover .But I did notice a little wheel shake above 60 Mph. To narrow down my origin closer than north america I live in Barrington Il. about 50 mi. northwest of Chicago on the Fox river and I love MM's and Mercury Marauder.net:lol:

Sorry to hear about the car, how does it handle now that you got it back. Good luck and keep any eye out for the wild life.
I posted a reply to marauderman.( Dont want to be redundant) took me a while to figure out this reply stuff :P Thank you for your comments !! car has slight shimmy over 60 mph. If I had any idea I would have crawled through there.

The only thing I could think of is to have front tires balanced made an appt. yesterday:o .sorry thought that fix? was directed to me
