Mosport Trackday

I went to my first trackday this season at the local track. It was with Dexter Autosport, with pro race drivers for instructors.
Race car broke so I put some new shoes on the Marauder

My instructor was a former Toyota Atlantic champ and currently drives in ALMS,
David Empringham. He thought the MM was a riot, with the ram bars and the headers. We were passing badly driven sports cars and hitting 200km/h (124mph) on the uphill back straight.

Cool pics thanks for sharing looks like fun!

I wondered what that cow push bar was doing on the front of your car:eek: till I saw, "it's a chair":P

The wheels are 18 X 9.5 BBS LM (le mans) with a 55mm offset. Tires are dunlop slicks, 250 front and 285mm rear. I reversed them to check, the 285s will fit on the front with no rubbing. Naake suspension was awesome.

Great Pictures!

The second pix looks like a Police Car accidently drove onto the track and decided to run down some errant Porches!!

P.S. Dunlop Sport 9000s???...How do you like them???

Actually they are Dunlop wet slicks from Daytona, I bought them used. I haven't used them yet, but they are damn soft after sitting in the sun.

Great shots, Mosport is definitely a lot of fun. Be careful running on wet tires on dry pavement though, especially ones made to hold up a car probably half the weight of your MM. A tire going down because of overloading and overheating could ruin your day.

cheers

Actually the tires sitting on the rack I did not use. I used the dry slicks mounted on the BBS wheels only. They stuck like heck. Today I was driving around with the trailer empty except for the wets, you should see the motorheads stare at the tires.

Just found out my mileage towing was around 13mpg, and on track 10.

 Great camera work! The set-up on the car looks good also. It looks like you can push 'em and pull 'em. Thanks for sharing.

Nice pics. Looks like fun.

Are you going to be at Shannonville in August with SVTOA?
It was a lot of fun. Pics were professional, $40 for a CD.

SVTOA is on my 'maybe' list. Might be at Calabogie, its their opening weekend for the new track.

found some more pics, on another board. They were making fun of the suspension travel.

Nice Picture! I never realized the nose dives down, that much under hard braking. I wonder if there's any MM's that lift the nose that high up on launch!

Those slicks really filll the wheel well nicely! I know you mentioned the width earlier, but what are they equivalent to, in a street tire?

Yeah right! you were just showing off your new hydrolics and don't want to admit it to us.

Those are awesome pics, they can laugh at the suspension travel but i be you suprised a lot of folks. I can't wait to autocross. Though I don't want to spend any more money on the darn car. Seems to me that going with drag radials on the street would be a softer choice then autocross tires.

I had to take pics of this Marauder. It looked so hot with the BBS LMs. I apologize for the quality of the pics. I had limited access to the track.
