Man of course. Mine has a problem. :mad2:

So the final delivery team seemed to be worried that I see the hood. So I stay home from work. Sure enough when it arrives the box is bent. We open it up and the drivers side corner is chipped. A few scuffs but structure is OK otherwise.

Never worked with fiberglass before so I call up Bob and talk it through and he says that should be able to be repaired no problem. So I keep the hood but mark it on the receipt.

As you can see the black coating is chipped but the underlying fiberglass is OK. How hard is that coating to repair? How do I do it? If I wait will the body shop charge me hundreds to do it when when they paint it? :depress:

TIA.

Bummer Matt. :bigcry: Hope it's an easy fix. Will the shipping company pay for the repair? :dunno:

No idea. Not sure what to do next. If its a $100 or less or something I can do I'll probably just eat it but I don't know what kind of filler you'd use on that.

I'm planning on doing the underhood sanding myself, so I'll be spending some time on it either way.

I love the new hood, if the original ClassGlass hood didnt tie into my paint I would have already ordered one!

Just got mine in today, YaY!!!

The oem hood latches should work, right?

Does anyone know if the stock hood blanket will fit?

Natch there will be a big gap underneath the mat and airflow would be blocked. The hump and vent would be cut off from the engine. You would probably need to do something custom to take advantage of the vents.

Custom mat seems plausible though.

Anyone have problems using their oem latches?

Just wanted to make sure evening hours on smoothly, I already have the painter working on it!

This will be the least of your problems, so keep it and fix it. Maybe grab what $$ you can from the freight company....

That was how I read it. Why I didn't send it back. Delivery guy was cool was ready for a refusal. He even initialed my description of the problem on the receipt. Lets see what it costs before I hassle them.

It's a damn cool hood. Looks like it took quite a beating to get that little chip.
