My buddie just scored...

The full sized Mercs of that vintage had C6 trannys. He better hope it still does- being behind that 429 and all!
That's a good price- the engine would bring that easy. If it has buckets and a console he could double his money overnight!
We need PICS!

He updated his post... copy/paste and cleaned some of the local info out..

My father saw an ad on criagslist for a 1979 grand marquis, called me up to go look at it. Turns out its a 1970 Marquis. White on White leather, dirty as hell from sitting for a year. I had two scrape the dirt off the windows to see good inside. Guy was asking 500.00 obo but because it wouldn't start he took 400.00. Turns out its the four barrel marauder 429 option motor, power windows, power seats, cruise control. Well anyways when we put the new battery in it at his place poured some gas down the carb, after three attempts we ending up driving it on the trailer! It blew a little smoke but drove right up. Inside is in great shape no rips in leather or tears, the headliner is sagging cause apparently string doesn't last 40 yrs. but the paint job is nice has some good h70/15 size tires.

That was a super deal and I like the car. Book em Danno but I think they used a 4 door. Probably few 2 door survivors today.

Wish I could get a score like that. Nice older cars that would be an easy resto are getting way too hard to find, and if you do they always want a stupid amount of money for them...

If that's truly a Marauder package. . . that's a heck-of-a-find.
