My new dead pedal design

The one you made for me in presently covered in Black Leather. Looks really nice. Now all I need is black screw heads, and it will be invisible....

BC4E, replied to your PM.
Dragcity, what size/style bolts do you need? we have a little selection of black bolts here at work. Mostly Allen head, Metric thread, in various head styles, round allen, countersunk, domed, and a few hex head..

They are definitely countersunk. Size, I dont know. Just a machine screw with neoprene sleeved nut.

Thanks for the offer Gifter....

BC4E just finished up my dead pedal, so i wont have it in hand for a while, but when i do, i can try to match up some black bolts for it and let you know.

Sweet, And I can send you a peice of Black, Grey, Red or any other color leather you want....

The silver pedal was irritating me, so I glued some scrap leather on it.

They are 1/2 inch 8-32 flat SS flat heads but on the new run I went with a 6 - 32 because I wouldn't have to ream all the bracket holes wich was time consuming.

So I just installed mine... I'll make a post on Crownvic.net, MercuryMarauder.net and on Motortopia.com about my installation of it and my thoughts. Tomorrow I'm going to be travelling about 500 miles, mostly highway/cruising so we'll see how great it works. As of right now it's extremely comfortable.... I'm gonna go take a test drive.

Big Thankx to Ron....

Just got mine and installed it... I had just put on the new rotors and pads I got for Christmas (courtesy of Dennis Reinhart’s shop) from my wife. The dead pedal was a great asset in keeping my big old behind in the seat while breaking in the new binders... Just a side note (remember to each mod’er his own) I repainted all of the silver painted surfaces flat black...The shiny pedal surface of coarse I left alone but I wanted to camouflage the remaining parts, short of like a hovering third pedal. Big Grin! Thankx again Ron!<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Put me on the list for one too.

FYI;

You can buy smaller lengths of 1018 steel online from:

www.mcmastercarr.com

I have done business with these folks for several years, and they provide excellent service.

No sure if it will be any cheaper to buy the shorter lengths, but worth looking into.

Ok, I found the pictures in the gallery, but how do I get the plastic trip piece off without breaking anything?

Is there a special trick to this?

Thanks

john

Nevermind! Just pulled a little harder and POP! Got the plastic trim out and it was a 10 minute install. I took it out for a cruise and I have to say that this has to be the second most enjoyable mod.

What everyone else said. +1

John

I bent up the bar stock. 15 alltogether and boy am I sore! Not used to this manual labor. Still waiting for the laser cut parts. He is running way behind. It may still be another couple of weeks. Sorry for the delay.

Don't forget to save me two. I'm not worrying how long it takes. From all I've heard they are worth the time it will take.
