Well everyone I am ashamed to have to say this but my wife burst the happy bubble I've been in for the last two weeks. I had planned on buying this 2004 MM that a friend was selling, one that I test drove a week ago and fell in love with. I had planned that once I bought the new MM I would give my wife my old 1994 Mercury Grand Marquis but she said she did not want a big car like that...especially one that is typically owned by an old fart. Now heres the kicker...she currently has a lerners permit and thats why I thought it was better for her to have an old car that she could scratch and dent...BUT she thinks she will be happier with a new car !! Any way, after much discussion...I caved for her happiness and decide to let go of the idea of buying the MM. The dream was good while it lasted. Now my only hope is the 2009 MM if one ever is produced.

See you guys on the flip side..!

Umm, if you start going down this road now, in 2009 even if a MM is produced, she will just make you buy her something else.

Who, except the rich, would demand a brand new car as a first car anyway. Honestly, my parents always thought me one should get a big american car as a first car. Once you master driving a car like the MGM, you can drive anything. However, if she starts with a tiny compact car as a first car, make sure to video tape the first time she parallel parks it (you will win something at America's Funniest Home Videos).

So, I guess riding the big yellow bus to school wasn't an option?? :jk:

Your plan of letting her take over the GM actually sounded reasonable. :D That was your first mistake. ;)

Good luck in getting your dream MM sometime down that not so distant road. We'll be here.

Put you foot down and get that 04 Marauder!

You fold on this, then you'll be dragging her bags all around womens department stores and picking up her tampons at the local drug store.
Thats if you aren't doing this already?

Everyone in my Family started out on a used car, and natrually the first car is always banged up due to gaining driving experience.
Do not fold, Reason with her, If you cant, then buy the car and give her no choice but to deal with it.
You should hang your head in shame that your wife wears the pants in the family!

Learner's permit + new car = more insurance $'s out of your pocket. It's a bad economic move that will cost HER in the long run.
Your call.... it's your life... she's your wife... you gotta live with her.

Kind of looks like she has a learners permit and ...so do you. She has a big advantage on you. She can retake the test. You only get one chance. Good luck my friend. Dennis:lol:

Now that's a pearl of wisdom right there.

That move is gonna cost you financially, hurt your pride, set a terrible precedent and make you miserable for a long, long time.

Sorry for ya, bro. We'll be here....

The only good thing about this is that when she dents her new car, and she will, you can say, "I told you so." I recommend that you say it. The personal satisfaction is worth the fight.

Just one observation, from a (sort of) old, (very) experienced commentator::geezer:

:bows: That woman must be fantastic in the sack.
