Hello all.
I wanted to drop in and say hello. I have been craving a Marauder for a while now. I am out looking now. Can you guys give me what to look for and what to watchout for? I am a Ford man through and through. I work on my own stuff and wouldn't have it any other way. I am looking for one that is stock with not much more than maybe exhaust. What kind of mileage do you guys get HWY/City?

Anyway thanks to who ever created this site if I can get my hands on one of these fine automobiles I will be spending lots of time here.

Thanks for any help you can give.
Here is the link to the Greymare if anyone is interested.

Welcome to the machine.

You have found the home of the 03/04 Mercury Marauder; the last place you'll need for any and all info on this awsome car.

MPG really depends.. Prolly around 23 miles per gallon on a stock MM.

There are about 3 or 4 MMs for sale on this site now. Check ebay also.

Greymare - Welcome aboard:D :welcome:

There were several Marauders for sale on this site and there are always some on Ebay.

A stock Marauder averages approximately 24 MPG on the highway.

Thanks yeah I have been looking around a little. I found a steal on a wrecked 04 Silver one with like 6,900 miles on it for $10,400. Just not into the silver. I have been up on Auto Trader online and found a few in the $14K to $19K range I am calling about tomorrow. Thanks for the warm welcome.

24 MPG is what the Cobra gets and that is fine with me I am looking for something a little more comfortable to ride 750 miles one way.

So what is the diff between a 300 A and 300B?

Looking at your handy work (Nice Cobra!), you have lots of options. I look forward to reading about your future Marauder projects.

Yeah I don't have plans to make this one a Hot Rod but that always changes. :D And thanks for the Props on my ride there is a video on the last page of that thread.

There is one for sale in Warner Robins, Georgia. It is a 2004 black with I believe about 13000 miles on it. They have it at warner robins ford. I was looking at it and it looks clean. If interested let me know and I will give you the phone number and any information you would like.

see this thread http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=22282&highlight=300a+300b

or here's the diff's anyways:
300A: full-sized spare, gas lid release inside, clock in dash, no traction control, blue-fade type tint on windshield

300B: "rental sized" spare, no gas lid release inside, no clockpiece on dash, traction control, parking brake release when going from neutral to drive, black dots fade type tint on the top of the windshield

The only factory accessories a MM has btw are a trunk organizer and a sunroof, I believe. All else is fully-loaded.

As for mpg-- I'm not the person to ask on this one. I'm 25. If I drove like you gray hairs it would make me feel like I bought a Grand Marquis :) My mpg is a terrible 14mpg city and I rarely drive on the highway. (live 1 mile from work)

... maybe I should just ride a bicycle.... nah

Welcome aboard. If there is a MM that interests you, PM me the VIN and I'll run it through Ford's OASIS database.

What part of Bama are you at. I'm just outside of Huntville. I get about 20 around town and 24 on the road.

Just to add to the diff list, The only options on the 300A are the trunk org. and a 6 cd changer for the trunk. Also, the auto parking brake release is on the 300A also. A sunroof was not a factory option for the 300A. And when mine was stock, I was getting around 17 to 19 mpg, sometimes as low as 15. It really depends how you drive. If you wait until spring, you can buy mine. I bought it new back in June of 2002.

Greymare, welcome :welcome1: to the MM.Net. Good luck on finding that Marauder of your dreams. You won't be disappointed. :D

Yeah I am just outside Huntsville to in the Union Grove area. As for the Grey hair I am only 30. I will drive it pretty hard around town and it will be pretty much around 78mph on the interstate. It looks like there are no engine or trans differents on the A and B then? That is what I was wondering. I am happy to be here and can't wait to get into my first one. I love my Cobra for driving around town. It is pretty wild. But the seats are not made to ride in for over 2 or 3 hours. You will be sore. LOL
Thanks again for the Warm welcome!

I believe that the trans was beefed up a little for the '04 model year, shift points were modified slightly, and dual knock sensors added. All '04s are 300As (series restart for that model year). :D If I misspoke here, I am sure someone will chime in.

I right down the mountian from you, Check with Ray Pearmon L/M,they might find you one. I would recomend the xcal2 or similar with the 03 A or B helps with the shifting a bunch. PM me if you want to get together.

300A also got the prettier Black Valve covers with the hidden InTech 32 Valve plackard. Welcome!
