Any plans to make the other bright work (window surround and exhaust tips) match the black chrome of the wheels?
 
Since it's dipped in chrome, how with it with stand cold weather and salt? Wont tips start to eventually rust
 
damn thats looks so nicee been wanting to do this for so long but its pretty expensive to sent them away and get powdercoated but will do this soon so i can have a se of black chrome my stock poished set and a set of steelies for the winter and would like a set of 24' just to show off wanna get 4 set of shoes for my baby

Those were bought for the reason of shipping them out to California along with a set of center caps to have them done in Black chrome. I couldn't be happier with the results the work that was performed on these. California chrome wheel inc did the work and its outstanding I also picked up black chrome lug nuts to match.
These were taken tonight, but tomorrow I plan on taking plenty of pictures in the sunlight. These pictures don't do them justice to how they look in person.

The cold won't have an effect but the salt will.
He has a great solution for that.
They won't see any salt!!!
 
Looking that is just gonna make me do this faster imm soo suprised not more members with the black mm havent done this yet this is gonna make alot of people to this mod im tryna find another set of good shape mm rims now so i can send the away to get powdercpated black chrome then im gonna send them away to get the front 9' and the back 11' cant waittt
 
I love this look so much i cant stop loking at it thinking yea my marauder is gonna look like this already got the red calibers painbted with the g2 paint did that 4 months ago i thing that realy sets the wheels off reed calibers with black chrome wheels im doin this exat thing but gonna leave the chrome lugs to make it pop a litte more and leave my ventercaps chrome but def gonna a set powercoated too so i can switch is aroud when i want a littel dif look

just love this nicest marauder ive seen in a long time good job

As with any chrome wheels, once you get a flake or chip the chrome, the salt gets underneath and that starts the chrome to flake off. I'm not worried about rust since they are aluminum underneath. The tips will be done with shadow paint from dupli-color. Its basically like painting on black chrome but can resist the heat and chipping. This method I'm already testing out on a license plate frame to see the results. If they hold up then the tips, rear badge, window trim and my SS inserts will be done in the same method. The rims I wouldn't want to paint simply because a crappy spray job on smaller pieces will go unnoticed, botch up a rim and they will look like hell and I'll be known as the guy who has painted fake chrome rims on his car. :D

Thanks man. I was going to leave the chrome lugs, but I figured that I would be happier completing everything on the wheel to just bring the look home. The calipers do look good in red with the black wheel, but I may change the color. I'll have to really play with a photo shop picture and see what color I want to go with.

BTW if these rims didn't look as half as nice as they do, you would have seen these featured in a for sale ad. :lol:
 
Hey Paul, the rims look real good with the dipped black chrome treatment. :up: Great daytime pictures of the NYC skyline in the background. :2thumbs:
