Plasti Dip Anthracite Wheels

8UWITH6

Keepin' the Shiny Side Up
I did this today to protect my factory wheels from the winter weather. It is the Anthracite color and I must say it turned out pretty well. I did a light 1st coat and let it flash for 15 minutes. Then a heavier 2nd coat about 20 minutes. 3rd coat I put on as heavy as possible and let it sit for 30 - 45 minutes (2 beers) and they looked great. But I did a final 4th coat just to be safe and for ease of removal in the spring because I do love the factory wheels. Just thought I would share. Pretty easy process really, just lots of prep. Now I am looking for more stuff to plasti dip. :)

Gonna do TagAlong's wheels next!

Looks amazing when I get an extra set I am doing this set up ,:) how hard would you say it was to put on the Rim from 1-10??

a few things I've learned from plasti-dipping.

1. this can gun helps a lot. whether your project is small or large. allows so much better control.

2. if you run into a situation where the plasti-dip was sprayed too lightly/improperly so that is doesn't peel off nicely. PB Blaster is your friend. Spray it on the plastidip, let it work into it for 30-60 seconds then you can use a fingernail or something similar to just scrape it off.

with my impact gun, jack and stands, this is a 3 at most. Unless I forget to switch the gun to counter clockwise like last time. Then it becomes exceedingly more difficult.

My car never gets dirty enough to worry about that, LOL. But seriously there is a chemical recommended by dipyourcar.com that doesnt harm the finish. I will more than likely just use soap and water and a microfiber.

FWIW it actually looks much darker today outside than it does in the pictures posted. I am very happy with it.

Looks great.

Sent from The White House on taxpayers dimes.
