Put 24's on my Marauder

I have been looking for years for the right rim to put on my car. Personally, with 20's and under, the stock wheels look the best. Nowadays, everybody has 22's on their chargers and 300C's. So I went with 24's. They fill the wheel well like a rim is supposed to.

The rims are MKW m 106 24's with 255/30/24 Continental Extreme Contact tires. I paid $800 for the rims new and $1100 for the tires mounted and balanced. The rims are 24x8 with a +40 offset. The bolt right on with no real issues. Only minor shaving of the passenger wheel well on the inside to avoid rubbing during sharp u-turns and I can't speed into a corner and hit the brakes otherwise the tire will rub the top of the fender a bit. I plan to have the front fenders rolled so I don't have to worry about it. The back tucks in beautifully with no adjustment to the ride height. I had all four factory rims in the trunk and it leveled itself out just right. Now that I have to slow down, I should save enough money from not getting speeding tickets for the rims to pay for themselves.

Before anyone starts with their "wagon wheel" or "should have put 30's" comments. Just know I have been on this forum for years and never once criticized your 18's or 20's because that is the look you wanted and that is your taste. You don't have to drive my car, so keep it to yourself.

OK....

But why post pics.

What's the point of putting on wheels so big that they negate any performance ability? Purely style? Why not do it to regular GM?

The cars performance is substantially the same. I didn't have a supercharger so it's still as fast. Braking may be a little worse, but I'm not spending nights at the drag strip. The only real downfall is I can't speed through a turn when the light is turning yellow? I need to slow down anyways. Actually it is all cosmetic and I still have the factory rims in case I need to swap back. Plus a grand marquis and crown Vic are a dime a dozen. The marauder alone turns heads and the rims keep them looking.

you didnt have to lift or put on any spacers, waiting to get some extra money and was also looking into 24's, so the rear rims are 24X8 also

They just haters as usual.
It looks good, add a chin spoiler and u have a winner.
I'm contimplating dueces on mine.

One question, do u plan on painting the rear brake calipers also?.... That would really set it off

No, I wasn't. Just curious. I understand the sidewall issue especially in Michigan.

I never thought about the center of gravity.

I have 24 with no issues thanks to butler tire. And there has been a lot of mouth dropping when people pull up besides me and thinks 24's slows me down. Vortech YSI on call all the time.

Not sure why you say that.... actually all of us love our Marauders. Because some may have another opinion or a sense of asthetics that differs from the OP or you, that does not warrant the term "haters". Almost makes it sound as if we have no right to exist. LOL (Unless you smile when you say it):D

You talk about the handling of our cars like your taking it down a slalom course. Last time I checked, this isn't a F1 race car designed for a road course. The performance is the same speed wise and changing lanes. I probably don't want to take a sharp corner at 60  like I could before.

Your cars looks good. Nice rims like one member said and the chin spoiler and also a rear spoiler that will definitely set your car off.

What numbers are you putting down?

I wonder if it gets squirrely under load when you put the loud pedal down.

It's all in what you or anyone else who owns a car likes. Some people like to add things to their car that improve performance, both in a straight line and handling. Some like to add things that are visually appealing...both make it yours and if that's what you like, then more power to ya! I would look into some monster brakes though. Stopping that much centrifugal force has gotta be hard on the stock brakes. I noticed with the 19" wheels I have. Brembos are in my future. Keep making that Marauder yours...

All in what you like on your car, nobody elses opinion realy matters, its your car mod your way!
