question for the heavy hitters 10 sec cars

Seneca

Procharged Marauder
I'm getting ready to install my rear axle under the car and was wondering are any of you guys adding any braces to the rear for extra strength? I already welded my axle tubes fully around. I've heard braces are a waste of time. Just wanna make sure before I stick it under thanks guys! Seneca

Welded axle tubes... sexy.

I haven't heard of anyone adding in extra bracing, maybe if they changed the rear out to something else besides the stock 8.8.

Ya I believe you are correct.. I haven't read about anyone on here adding any bracing.. but then again we don't give out all our secrets lol!

I have a friend who welded "traction" bars to the rear end. When he tried launching the 1st time out, the entire axle rotated and broke right where he welded the traction bars. I wish I had taken a picture, it was kind of funny, but not really.... it was very expensive to fix.

Jerry can send you a pic of what's on his Whipple car.

Honestly I don't think a turbo car will ever launch hard enough to cause damage.
(unless you have a trans brake)

No bracing here, no welded tubes, no braced diff cover, stock control arms. Just 31 spline diff and axles and Hoosier drags. Lots of 1.4x 60's.

A set of Metco control arms, and a set of QA1 single adjustable rate shocks and your good!

9 in would be sweet!
I'm agreeing with zack I dont think it's gonna come outa the hole super hard anyways..
