Dick Clark, the music industry maverick, longtime TV host and powerhouse producer who changed the way we listened to pop music with "American Bandstand," and whose trademark "Rockin' Eve" became a fixture of New Year's celebrations, died today at the age of 82.
Clark's agent Paul Shefrin said in statement that the veteran host died this morning following a "massive heart attack."

Man that is sad news. I remember going to Philadelphia in the 60s and dancing on American bandstand hosted by Dick Clark. RIP

He will always be remembered as the eternal teenager. He may be gone but he will be remembered. God speed to you Dick Clark

Dang! I've got memories of him from a little kid on. I grew up watching American Bandstand.

New Year's Eve will never be the same. RIP Mr. Clark.

We lost American Bandstand, Soul Train, and I don't know what New Years Eve is going to be like anymore, and we are left with Lady Ga Ga........:bigcry:

Dick Clark - RIP, Missed by millions

Remember growing up (somewhat) whatching his show live from Phila. Funny how the show was broadcast only about 25 miles from where I grew up but diriving there was somehow not in the cards? Life is funny that way

R.I.P. Dick Clark pass on but not forgotten. God Bless!

We used to dash out the door of our high school in the late 50's, and run home to watch the show.

We all had a major crush on Justine.

His "rate the record" (or something like that) was fun to watch.

"I give it an X, Mr Clark, because I like the beat, and you can dance to it."

Soul Train is still on here. R.I.P. Dick Clark.
I asked my grand childeren if they knew who he was and they looked at me like I was crazy.
