Race Fuel & Mileage

Bradley G

broke but not dead!
Tried filling the tank with half 110 octane and half 93.
Observations after 150 miles 1/2 tank:Mileage appears to be a little better.
I also put the Factory air box back for an experiment.
The car makes a totally different sound, way less blower music, more hissing under WOT.
BTW the 110 octane fuel was only about a dollar a gallon more than 93.
Cause , when I told my wife I put race fuel in the car, she was  .
She thought the price was double, the cost of 93 octane.
To get maximum benefit (mileage/performance)from the increased octane the timing should get a bump too.

Didn't get a chance to push timing at all.

I got 290 miles on 17.8 gallons.
Good mix of driving!
The wifesters commute mostly.
Untill I get it back, then it's hammer time!
Stop and go to the White Sox game both ways.
A better measure, would be, to advance the timing accordingly.

I have mixed 100/92 octane and it doesn't seem to make any difference performance or milage wise, just a feel good thing I guess. 100 octane is usually about $1.50 more than 92 at the only station I can find it around here. With gas prices as they are now days, I haven't hit the 100 octane pump in months.
