Radiator fan motor went out, anyone had this?

Okay, I just pulled mine out, like, 20 minutes ago, and the plastic rib that runs on the outside of the blades is CRACKED. Is there any place I can get JUST THE BLADE?
 
I just replaced mine a month ago....I went Dorman. It has a lifetime guarantee, so we'll see. I could not find the fan only....I believe only alternative there is a junk yard.

It looks like this. I won't pay $400 for a part I can probably fix with super glue, but I will gladly buy the blade out of somebody's burnt out motor assembly, even a cheapo after market one, for reasonable price.

Russ had some recent experience when that happen to you----mine went out, the modular that connected to the computer that rest on the housing for the fan ..anyway---it went out---got an aftermarket--lasted 22 miles--caught fire at the NASCAR HALL the day I went to meet with the Mgr of the Wings Cafe for MVVIII. Had to leave MM in garage there overnight--and that is what Russ did--had an OEM part overnighted and we put it back on , in the garage the next day--- that's how he knew what to do so fast with your..we had to take apart and put back twice---

Yeah--OEM is the way to go--Check with Russ---

I don't think super glue would hold it.

I'd use a 2 part epoxy in the crack and bolt a strap to span break. You'll need to do the same thing on opposite side so the blade is balanced.
 
I'm using Oatey All Purpose Cement, which is industrial grade glue for ABS, CPVC, and PVC. My guess is this blade is ABS. This stuff has more warnings about it's use than directions, which means it can probably glue a spoiler on. I used this stuff to build a water pump for my well and it's held up for several years. We'll see if it works for the fan...
 
Okay, initial Road Test: I glued the crack on the fan last night, let it dry for two hours (as the can advises) and reapplied a second layer on the outside and let it dry over night. Re-installed this morning, drove 60 mile commute. So far, no rubbing/rattling noise like it was making before. I will post an additional review in a week or so. If using the Oatey All-Purpose Cement works for these fans, even for a 1000 miles, I'll call that a fix. Cost is about $3 a can.
 
Update: After about 200 miles, the glue gave way. Oh, well. Bought a Dorman unit, and if it gives me any problems, I'll just take the fan off of that one and put it on my OEM Motorcraft one.

I don't think you can swap the fans.... look at how they are mounted.....
 
Been using a Dorman ten days ago, and so far, it works great. I have a 60 mile commute, and I've already logged in around 800 miles with no problems, but we'll see.

When I got the Dorman, it does look like the fan blades cannot be swapped without a lot of work.
 
thats happen to me ones just like that .. I look for a broken motor to take the fan for it and put it in my fans .. its work perfectly .. good luck
