Rattle

crouse

I know nothing
I have a rattle that seems to be coming from the exhaust when I start up. Is it possible the resonators are causing this? If so, can they be cut open and removed and welded back together?

Wack the exhaust pipes with a rubber mallet. Find the rattle.

On Saturday a car had a loud squeak from the dash. Thought it was the console. I drove it around but could not find the source.

I pounded around with my fists and found it rite away. It was where the dash meets the windshield. Quickly fixed it with a rubber gasket strip.

Yes they can but highly doubtful that’s the source.

I would check the cats, mufflers, and heat shields first by giving them some love taps like mentioned.

Interesting. My car started making an intermittent rattling sound, when accelerating from a stop - sounds like a piece of gravel rolling around in one of the wheels on driver's side - none found. Drove it to the shop to put Marauder in the air for inspection - nothing found and couldn't replicate noise with tech in the car - I could replicate the noise on the short trip to the shop however. Ghosts of Marauders that have passed to the Great Beyond...

Put it in drive and let the harmonics point it out. Maybe even give it a couple of light revs.

My Marauder has been quiet ever since driving it home from the shop yesterday. Made a 'beer run' tonight - not a peep. Let's see what has changed: 1. Spark plug change and compression check. 2. Put new insurance card into Marauder's document packet inside of glove box, after laying on my desk for nearly 6 weeks. Hmmm...

Don't use anything other than stock tips. Get the ends cut off with a band saw and knock out the pipe inside the tips. They will have to be tig welded back together.

Mine did it again thursday, first time driving Marauder in several days. Noise only lasted less than a mile and only when the car is moving. Had two passengers and both stated it sounded like a 'rock rolling around in the wheel'. I'll start checking the wheels before driving Marauder to make sure gravel isn't getting into a wheel - paved street, gravel driveways.
