Redster's going West

cruzer

PoP-PoP 'RAUDER
Noooo, not that West--West to California. Rod tells me that he will be leaving for his retirement home in California next month. I think it would be great if all the "Chucks" regulars, who have kinda become a family, got together for an "Over the Hill" send-off. Not at a car show--no judges--just us folks telling a wonderful couple "So long for Awhile". I'm open for suggestions, but if someone dosen't come up with something by Friday, I'm going to suggest Lunch at McAllister's Deli in Hurst on Saturday or Sunday of next week (19th/20th ) Rain (don't we wish) or shine. Plenty of parking for a group picture and plenty of room in the deli--the manager is really looking forard to seeing our group. We don't care if your Marauder is not spiffy clean, we just want to see your face(and your car). Rod and Regina have been very supportive of our group and we will miss them terribly.
Sooooo, let's give them a BIG send-off . Ya'll come now, ya heer !!!!
Post a reply so I can know what to plan. Maury

If someone knows of a breakfast place where we can meet on a Sunday morning--speak up I think I can get Le Peep if that would be OK--just let me know

This Sunday out of the question? Good news on my end is as of next week my employment changes and will be able to join in group activities again!!:banana2:

I would like to come see the Redster off, even tho I have been AWOL for a long time, since selling my MM. Will bring my Charger, of course. I will keep track of this thread. Hey, Dan F. where are you???

Sunday, July 20 , 9 AM, Le Peep in Bedford ?????????

Happened to be in the neighborhood and dropped in Le Peep. Those of you who have been there know it has plenty of parking and good food. Have reservations for 12--can increse to 25 with no problem--just need commitments. We've had good times there in the past--let's go back for the party. You asked for a place and time--you have it. Early church goers can make it and others can attend 11 AM services. PLEASE post if you think you can make it--rain or shine. Not a car show--it's a P-A-R-T-Y. Show Rod and Regina we will miss them---Hope to see you there in force--"Marauder Alley" will be open. We understand that fuel could make it impractical for some of you to make it, but, let them know how you feel. Maury

If enough interest---map will be published

Can't Make it, I will be out of town that weekend, but Angela and myself wish you and Regina the best, keep in touch!

It will be good to see you guys again, besides Silverback needs some road time, Patricia and I are coming.

Regards,

Pat

Directions to Le Peep

If you are heading West on Hwy 183, Central Drive Exit is the FIRST Exit after you merge with Hwy 121--be prepared to move over to the far right lane as soon as possible--if you can't make it, continue West til the next exit--do a U turn and use the access road to get back to Central Drive--it's a little tricky--should be O K on Sunday morning. Marauder Alley will be open in the parking lot in front of the restaurant. Remember, this is rain or shine. I'll need a final count by FRIDAY NITE--soooo, post or PM or e-mail at nc32515@aol.com .Let's give the Redsters a fun send-off. See you there , Maury

I was counting on Sam ( Two-Hawks ) but he will be in Amarillo on a family emergency. Adam (young1a) is celebrating his 40 somethingth birthday----Happy Birthday Adam. Will hear from the Cougar folks on Sataurday. I'm sure we will have 15 or so--sooo, come on out for a party. It will only be for an hour or so. Still have a couple phone calls to make. See you in Marauder Alley. Maury

Great Party

Rod and Regina's Going Away Party was a success. John, Kay and Linda couldn't make it. The rest of us enjoyed the party, but will really miss the Redsters. The weather was hot and clear, the food was good and we had some happy and funny moments. Rod was given an aid for those "over the hill", which included a spare set of false teeth, a magnifing glass, a bottle of "happy pills", awarning horn and a "Ron's X-ing" road sign--all attached to a walking cane. I think we covered everything. We all signed a card and went out to the parking lot for pictures. Steve arrived in a truck ?????????. Our color collection was rare---1 red, 3 silvers and 2 blacks with 2 supercharged.
We all wish Ron and Regina a safe trip and many happy years of retirement.
Bon Voyage, our friends, we'll miss you, Maury

The engine is Pat's new DR S/C installation--really impressive
