November 2 - 4, 2017

Our host hotel is Comfort Suites located in Gettysburg, close to the Battle Field and all of Gettysburg's attractions. Choose a King or 2 Queen non-smoking suite. The room rate of $95.99/night includes a full hot breakfast. The hotel will provide segregated parking for our group.

All the details will be posted up in a new thread by end of next week.
All are welcome, no Marauder needed.
Hope you will join us!

What time on Thursday? I teach a class until 9:15 AM It would take me about three hours to get the Gettysburg from my house. Any Thursday afternoon activities are possible for us.
We have been to the battle field many times with my scout troop. We ran several family trips there when I was the scout master. The ghost tour is fun.

Joanne and I could make the Friday & Saturday easily. We will talk tomorrow while on the Beer run!

Are these the correct dates, Thursday through Saturday?
Yes, was thinking arrive Thursday afternoon/evening and check out Sunday. Don't need to so all 3 nights though. Could join in at any time.

See above. We'll talk!

Do we have a special code so I can book the hotel? When I called the reservation desk, they were clueless about our group and group rate.

Yes Jim, we will have a group code. I have to sign the contract first. Should have that all set by close of next week. I'll post everything in a new thread. Just wanted to get the word out to save this dates!

Snow??

Last time I made the trip to Gettysburg for the meet in 2005, I ran into snow in the mountains. It was the end of October. However, it was a GREAT time. Paula, you may want to contact Mike Poore, as he had some great places to visit and could help out with planning if he isn't off shooting somewhere. For a retrospective, search Gettysburg 2005.

I was thinking of going over to York Friday to do the Harley-Davidson tour. Basic tour is free and a first come first served. They also have a more in-depth tour that is $38.00 and includes paint, frames, tanks etc. 2 hours for that one.

Could do the craft beer tours as fill in as needed or as in proximity to other stuff.

Saturday I'd like to do the Eisenhower farm as I've never done it, but you are welcome to do the battlefield if you've never been. It's a very solemn experience if you take to the time to imagine what took place. A must see is the cyclorama in the visitors center. Gives you a good reference before you take the self driving tour. You may wish to purchase (highly recommended) the CD that explains what you are looking at as you drive the battlefield.
