Seating and Pedals

To make the seat go back farther:

1. Get a pair of vice grips.
2. Move the seat all the way forward.
3. Go behind the seat
4. You will see a small silver pin in one of the holes in the seat track.
5. PULL IT OUT. This will give you an extra 1" - 1.5". This is a stopper Ford put in order for the rear passangers to have more space.

I did it on both the seats in my car and have been loving it ever since.
Aha! I LOVE this site! :) There is nothing you guys don't know! At 6'8" I'm doing this first thing tomorrow morning.

Thanks again!

Norm

P.S. Will there be a problem with the seats running OFF the track if this pin is removed? I take it there will still be another full stop even if this pin is taken out?

Thanks!

More Leg room in front

I'm right behind you Norm,@ 6'7" I was excieted to hear of the additional leg room.I was thinking the same thing but I think the track won't let this happen?

Thanks for the feedback!

I'm definatly gonna try this!

Has anyone dyno tested to see if the K&N filter that fits into the stock air box actually makes any difference?

The seat will not fall off the track, the pin is there to stop the seat so the rear passengers have leg room.
Can someone else please try this to confirm my story!

I wish someone would find out how to raise the left arm-rest on the driver-side door about 2 inches!

At my age I don't think my arms will be growing longer.
That's an easy one. Use the retro-fit kit from Charlie's '72 Monte Carlo, with the self -adjusting driver's door feature .....very handy.
