So how many OEM Batteries are still Cranking??

June 02 build.....still OEM battery at 48K. Frankly, I've been going to get a new one, but the discussion around here about getting poor service on new ones has persuaded me to wait until it craps out.

I've carried jumper cables the last three years. though!

I don't care if you have an 03 or 04, or how many miles you have
if your still rocking the original battery your living on barrowed time.
good luck to all.

I concur; I'm still on the original battery since 05 when I bought it (300a), definitely on my list of new equipment.

Mine is still original, havent had any issues with it. I believe impalaslayers and stranger in a black sedans batteries are OEM as well...

Still have my original battery but its time for a new one.
My car isn't a "daily driver" and because it sits for so long when i go to drive it i have to jump start it with my vic first.

I love living on the edge. If your not on the edge, your taking up too much space.

Bought mine June 02. Just replaced this summer, after I gave someone a jump; kept blowing a fuse under the hood, finally checked and replaced battery.

My OEM, build date 08/03, has worked flawlessly, but after (6) Michigan winters as a daily driver, I didn't want to tempt fate. Yesterday, I replaced the Motorcraft BXT-65-650 with a BXT-65-850.

My '03 MM still has original battery (50k miles) but I have been wondering when it will "expire". I too have an '01 Bullitt (14K miles) and I replaced it's battery last year, preventitive and the fact that I wanted to get a MotorCraft replacement that matched the original before they changed the look.
