SRT Hellcat Horsepower Number has been revealed!

No mention of car weight. Have heard this model is heavy, but I have no numbers.
The Challenger is a little on the Porkey side compared to the Camaro and Mustang./I can see what you are getting at /Because my buddy's 2013 srt8 jeep is over 300 lbs heaver than the 06 he had and that definitely negates the 50 added horses of the new one ,because the older SRT felt quicker out of the hole.

Crank horsepower. No manufacture advertises wheel horsepower.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk so I may sound retarded.
Correct ,Notes are well taken/ and understood, but Mopar has had a habit of PUFFING figures and Ford and Chevy were a little closer to the mark both ways. Also the Chargers were showing quicker ET's than the Challengers .

707 HP...........

HOLY blown Hemis Batman!!!

I think that Chevy needs to 'recall' their lame ZL1 for a 100+ HP infusion.

and FORD just needs to add 2 psi to the Shelby GT500....heh heh heh

There will be entry pricing at $60k,,, however never be able to get one in this price range as they won't build them any other way than fully spec'd.

Dodge did (does?) make a "core" SRT that was barebones, but with the 392 engine (and, I think, upgraded brakes).

Too bad the Eaton Swap funds wouldn't make much of a dent in for a down payment! :shake: What a badass car, though! :bows: :burnout: Congrats to Dodge for stepping up!

My daily driver is a 2013 SRT8 Charger with 470 hp from Mopar. The power is absolutely awesome!! I routinely get 0-60 of 4.5 to 4.7 seconds. :bows:

Yes, it is a lot faster and more powerful than my MM, however, I still love the MM.

The factory stock power on the SRT8 is so awesome that I routinely smoke the rear tires (orig. Goodyears and subsequent Michelins) if I don't consciously take great care. These are big bad 245 45 20 ZR rated tires. :violin:

Dodge will have to put much bigger and stickier tires to get all of that 707 hp to the pavement without smoking a lot of rubber. My orig. rear tires were worn out after about 6,000 miles or so. It was a lot of fun, however. :D:banana::D

Yepp and if any of you old Ford Buffs can the remember the Baddest engine on the Planet was the King Kong [Not Elephant ] 427 S.O.H.C. 'CAMMER' it cranked out 650 hp with two 4 barrels Normally aspirated in 1964 [50 years ago] and Mopar pitched a big one to Nascar ,because they new the race was over. ,yes it was outlawed and allowed to Drag Strip duty only. .Now this was a Over the counter engine. but at any rate ,like Joe said [Just add 2psi to the GT500 ]:burnout:

I say tune it back down to 675 or so, stuff it in a fully blown 300 4dr with flares.... And BAM! Make an all black "blackout" model with big custom crome 5spoke wheels, and dual Crome exhaust... Then Make a similar med/anthracite silver version....

Ps. have rented the challenger, it is TOUGH TO SEE OUT OF. Claustiphobic and uncomfortable IMHO...

One aspect of our MM's that is rarely discussed in the excellent vision in and out of our cars.
