What I mean is for each side to have: headers to cats to muffler to tip. All straight; no connection in the middle.
The section of tubing between the cats and the rear muffler on cars that have two parallel exhaust pipes. Performance mid-pipes often have a perpendicular connecting pipe or the pipes temporarily merge. This is to equalize the pressure in both exhaust pipes and keep the engine back-pressure as low as possible since back-pressure is detrimental to high-end power.

I think you'll want the connecting pipe between the two sides to equalize pressure in the system, that's the reason for X or H pipes.
Which one is better?
Which x-pipes are the best value?
Which x-pipes are the best value?
Technically an X makes more power. You can get one that's muffled (perforated X core)
and this will be a third time: Don't do straight pipes you will loose power. --again just in case you missed it.![]()
