Swapped out my front timing cover.

Sinister with style
I was sick of looking at my timing cover so it had to go. It was painted before and the paint turned a greenish color which looked like hell so I picked up a second cover and had it powder coated.

Old one

And here's the powder coated one.

I wasn't messing with removing the cam covers or removing the crossover tube and coolant to do this job so I left them all installed and managed to complete it within 2 hours working around them.
I tried to post a install thread, but the character limit prevented me so Ill just link it so you can use it as a reference should anyone wanna attempt this themselves.

The final product is a nice smooth clean look. I didn't go with the polished chrome look because of the difficulty of having to polish and clean it should it become oxidized or dirty. I spend way too much time as it is polishing so having to remove the belt and pulleys just to clean is where I draw the line. :D

Great....just from looking at your engine bay pics, 24 things where added to my to do list...:depress:

Looks awesome, Paul.:up::bows:

I love seeing your engine! I can only imagine how much time it takes to keep it looking that great all the time!
:bows:

Thanks for the compliments. Tomorrow I may throw on the short runner intake manifold which is chrome powder coat and will finish the look.

Lots of time spent with polish and wiping stuff down. This is the number one reason why I hate driving in the rain, it's a two hour process getting the engine cleaned up with water spots. :mad:

Nice job on the cover! I put a drop or two of WD-40 in my COT socket to keep it from rusting, do that and your engine bay looks perfect. I like your PHP CAI setup, I need some better clamps for mine.

How did you timing chain tensionsers look inside? Can you post a pic or I forget if you already had that done when you had the engine out last time -- but 2 hours is a great time to swap the front cover out! Powdercoat FTW!
