Still can't believe how damn fast this car can accellerate.Getting on the Interstate last night,this Beast can get up so fast it makes me so Damn excited with such a rush I get sweaty hands.My wife thinks I'm crazy?And she can't believe I'm so nut's over this car.To her it's a" nice car" and she likes it but does'nt feel the need to drive it.I guess I'm lucky.:D

I have the cure for your sweaty hands. They come from trying to go fast....put in a chip and you WILL go fast....no more sweaty hands :D
 
i used to feel that way about my 97 mark 8, till i got into a marauder it's a dream come true. comfort and speed. i'll baby her for a thousand or so miles to break her in, then comes the chip, then comes the fun , then the wife gets the explorer. no way she's driving the merc.

Mike I own a bone stock 03 MM with 1600 miles and I was wondering how well you liked the chip, plugs, and therm? Do you want to add gears or are you happy with the 3:55's? (save gas?)

Was the plugs and therm necessary with 3:55 gears?

Also it is confusing to me when other MM members talk about the Reinhart chip isn't this just a chip from Fordchip.com?

Sorry for all the questions but I really wanted to hear your comments on just adding the chip when everyone else has already added both gears and chip.

God this car is fun to drive! :D

Don't know if the chip is the same. Reinhart Automotove(Dennis) does his own. The plugs are needed as the timing is advanced from stock.
I had my chip programmed fro the new gears tthat will be going in the week of Jan. 6th. The chip changes the shift points, give more positive shifts. and in my SOPO, provides much better performance even with the 3/55's. Of course, my speedo is off as I haven't uinstalled the gears yet.

I will probably go with the 4:10 gears later. Because I tow, I'd like more low end power. There are many chip places. I think Reinhart does his homework a little better than most as to how he programs his. It is night and day different with the chip. Stock MM's jump to 4th as quick as possible. With the chip you get nice smooth longer shifting points.(besides the exta HP :D). My MM shifts into 4th at just over 140. The plugs & Stat are cheap and easy to install. They should be a mandatory package with the chip.

Mike thanks for the info! Sounds like the chip makes a big diference.
Shifts into 4th gear at what?!? 140 mph! I assime that is with the pedal to the metal!
