Thanks VT Engines

Question

I have a question I'm looking over your longblocks and was thinking about a beefy Cobra version for the S/C but they all say core required, I don't want to give up mine just yet and it is expensive from Florida to ship a motor, is it a guideline more than a rule or it that a potential deal breaker? P.S. welcome and thankyou for supporting this site

BigMerc,

The option you have for getting around providing your core block is by purchasing a new block. Most people use cores due to the expense of the Cobra/Marauder Aluminum Blocks. It is not a rule or a deal breaker, merely a suggestion.

Thanks,
TeamVT

OK what does that add to the price, im thinking after getting the Vortech installed, my engine will last about a year, I want a replacement ready that s/c ready and good to go so my down time is minimized.

I'm just thinking it will cost me an engine to get that smile off my face when i get this system, I will want to be prudent and use the power wisely, but i'm pretty sure i'm going to floor ir every chance I get. There fore I will need a bullit proof motor, so this one is like the sacrificial lamb. thats what I'm thinking is going to happen

Hey Big Merc, Mad-3R scooped up the 302 CID package I scouted last year from VT. This is the way to go if you're planning on building a fast and reliable MM. You can drop the compression ratio and get more elbow room for the supercharger, and it will appear, and drive like the stock engine, until it's time to go.

It's a lot cheaper than you think, and I really like the quality and craftsmanship VT provides. They have some cam ideas coming down the pipe, and maybe some ported head thoughts too. All the machinery, and the skill, is in house. Great people to deal with as well. I don't know where you are in the country, but if you're within driving distance, take a ride to Lansing MI and visit, you'll like what you see.

Thankyou, If the sarge says it, its good enough for me. I'm sold I am not in the area but that sounds like the way to go to me also.
I'll see what they offer, and listen to their experience and expertise. Thankyou again Sarge
