The Bo0sted Bastard

I need a better tuner and self control/awareness :shake: Lol. Atleast my labor is free and parts are cheap.......why I didn't build a 600+ rwhp 32 valve lol.
I keep a couple of cans of Torco in the trunk of the supercharged Crown Vic in case I find myself somewhere with only 91 octane gas. I had to spend three months last year in Colorado Springs for work so I got a case of the stuff. It makes the exhaust smell funny and it isn't cheap. Not everyone can rebuild an engine out of parts lying around the garage. LOL I'd love to be able to do that again but it isn't in the cards for me. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. Sigh.

8-Lug trailer to match the 8-lug Jeep. I like it :D.

That's my buddies jeep, it just got a 1 ton swap and full hyd steering. We took it out saturday to test it out, he ended up breaking a hyd fitting on the ram from hitting the frame. So I have to clearance the frame more and replace the fitting. This is both of ours on the trailer. We travel around the US together wheeling.

Took the car out to Gladwin Michigan for "thunder on the strip". They shut down the airport and run a 1/8 on the taxi runway. It was pretty cool, felt very nostalgic.

I met up with a guy from a local Facebook group for some races. He had a p71 that was pretty well gutted, 150 shot, drag slicks, 4.56s etc hes setup to run 1/8 pretty well. He took me to school at every light lol. I was trying to work on my 60' which I suffer at. Unfortunately they weren't tracking that on the time slips. But the first race I only launched at 1 psi, then the 2nd and 3rd around 4-6 and spun each time.

Man that’s a short race!!! Repeat after me “Leave on the last yellow”. [emoji16]

The one thing I can say I’m damn good at. I seem to always come in at .008 on the tree.

Reeled him in quick though!! Traction must have really sucked as I’ve seen the fender gap on just a 100 shot stock Marauder that I could have put my head in to fill the gap. I’ll have to see if I can find the still of my old Trilogy against Lowbuckmm’s 100 shot. The Trilogy fender gap is nothing compared to his.

Yeah track prep was horrible. They laid sticky down further back from the start line then in front of it lol. And where they wanted us to warm our tires was in the sticky stuff.

Found it!

Brandon’s 100 shot hit on take off and my old Trilogy in the background.

Cool old pic.

Hoping to get back to the track. But I'm not sure how/when. Local track only has one test/tune this month due to events every other weekend. And I'll be in Canada with my jeep for that test tune. Hoping to go in October before they close. But I might not be the driver, I'll learn next week if I'll be having surgery on my back or not. So I maybe sidelined and may have to get a buddy to drive it and try and get it into the 10s like I hoped this year. Running out of time, this back **** has sidelined my entire summer. Had "grand plans" of trips with the car and jeep all summer that I had to cancel. Could be worse. Take what I can get.

Well I got my goal, went to the track last night. Launched at 11psi and cut a 1.56 60' , seemed to hold and not spin. Hit a peak of 18psi on the pull. But I was banging on the rev limiter top of 3rd at the end of the track. Track officials made a trip by me in the pits and gave me a warning for being to fast w/o a cage.

So I made some adjustments in the tune, raised the rpm shift point of the 2-3, and raised the rev limiter a couple hundred to try and keep it off the rev limiter. Also bumped peak boost to 20-21psi. Unfortunately, my next pass the track didn't hold the launch and I spun. Got out of it, got back into it to the 1/8th then coasted to the 1/4, still ran a 14 sec lol. Then my fourth and final pass, I launched at 11 psi again and my yukon duragrip blew apart :(. Specifically the two smaller spiders gears broken in half.

Shock loaded the drive train, so I'm gonna pull the trans as well and have it gone through for inspection. Car has 4.10s in it, they appear to have survived, but I have a set of 3.55's on the shelf I've been meaning to put in. Guess now is a good time. But I need to decide what direction to go for a new carrier.

Man that 10.78 kinda made it worth the trouble.

Whats the weight on this swapped MM? What tire?

Damn a 10.78......

Last time at the track the scales showed 4700 lbs. Scales weren't working last night.

275-60/15 et/ss 18psi

10 sec 1/4 mile and 600+ rwhp was my goal for this car in the begining. I think I've achieved my goals. Now to fix it, and turn it down and enjoy it.

Make a clock like I did. [emoji16]

Congrats!

I’d say at least closer to 43.0 pounds than 4.30... [emoji6]

Something had to be done with the gears, shattered secondary timing gears, bent Manley S.S. Valves, and whatever else I had laying around from the long journey that got me here. [emoji1303]

I've used an OEM 31-spline Trac Loc and OEM 31 spline axles on both of my S/C'd Marauders with great success. It's a cheap and reliable alternative. You can usually find used 05 and up complete axle assemblies for $200.
