THIS is why I'm selling my MM

Drove 10hrs to Michigan on Saturday, picked this up and trailered it 12hrs back on Sunday. It's worth it! It's a good "10 footer" and not a pristine show car but that's OK with me. Most importantly (for me at least)....it's real!! :)

Not sure if she'll be road-worthy by the next meet, but I'm sure gonna try!

My wife has been very understanding but I'm pushing it here a little :o
I used her car to tow the 4000+lbs 700 miles on Sunday, it's now sitting in our driveway (usually reserved exclusively for her) and will be there for another week+ while I get it back on the road and I've been obsessing about this for about 2 weeks already. Oh yeah, did I mention the 400lb, Olds 455 short block still sitting in the back of her SUV??

Nice 442 looks like a real fun car.

i wish i still had my 442 had to sell it at the time but hope i find it again to buy it back.

Mine was the g-body a 1985 white 442 with a very modified 307. the car was named "WHITE LIGHTNING" it was a rare one

Nice, I had a 68 H/O back in the day, always loved them
I remember a friend of my brothers bought one new when he came back from 'Nam.
Same color as yours, love it.

Thanks folks!

This '70 442 came out of a barn in Michigan where it sat for about 7 years. It's an older, amateur resto, probably from the 90's and is far from perfect. I haven't washed it yet because it still has all that stored-and-untouched-for-many-years dust on it, but that will change very shortly. It was originally Sherwood green with a green interior. The resto turned it black with w-30 stripes but some of the green interior parts are still there (headliner, dash, door panels, etc...). The guy I bought it from was in the process of changing the interior black so seats have been reupholstered black.

It has a Olds 350 in it from an unknown year, 400 turbo, 12-bolt rear with unknown gears. BUT...it came with a 1970 date coded 455 short block and "E" heads. My long-term goal (and I see this as a marathon, not a sprint) is to restore it back to original; colors and powerplant. My short-term plan is to pull the '72 Rocket 350/350 turbo (both re-done and worked in 2007) from my rotting '72 Cutlass Supreme and replace the units currently in the 442. All I need is time and money....right?!?

Nice car, though im partial! Have you joined rop or classicoldsmobile yet?

I haven't heard of those before. I was a card-carrying member of the Oldsmobile Club of America until I got my Marauder. I was having so much fun with the MM, I was pretty sure it spelled the end of my Olds. That and there's no existing chapter in NJ, so I let my membership lapse. Needless to say, I'll be rejoining and I'm considering starting a NJ chapter (when I contacted them a few years ago, I asked about the existence of a NJ chapter and they basically said, "Well there isn't 1 yet. Wanna start 1??". I was in no position at that time, but my kids are a little older now. I may be able to pull it off.

Very nice, have fun. I'm driving the MM 800 miles to Michigan next week but I wish I was coming back with one of them.
