Time to replace the spark plugs, any recommondations on brands

I have a stock 03 Marauder and I will be changing the spark plugs for the first time. Any recommendations on brands and gapping- I have read .052 is best. I am looking forward to the comments.
 
I pretty much stick with autolites and if my favorite store don't have them NGK's why reinvent the wheel
 
I recently put NGK iridiums in mine and you dnt have to gap them! Oh and I was stock to and I just bought a jlt intake N wow! Stock nevermore! Ready for a tune next! Suggest u do da same ur soul will thank me lol goodluck!
 
Go with NGK's. IMHO iridium plugs aren't worth the extras $$'s. Especially if you change plugs once a year.
 
MotorCraft factory plugs, period. I had my car tuned and switched plugs. Couldn't figure out what was wrong. Had it retuned, it was was the plugs. Put factory plugs back in, bingo regained my 50 hp from the tune. Dyno verified at the same place. Other than a intake & tune, my car was pretty much stock.
 
The hotter plugs are not the best bet

Go with the sotck one's you already have in the engine!

You need the cooler plugs to keep it running right and keep your HP's up.

Heat is every thing in an engine trying to make HP the more heat the less power.
 
Motorcraft or Autolite...

BTW, Motorcraft plugs are made by Autolite, so buy whichever you can find easiest.
 
The only thing I have done to the car is put on a K&N...So it sounds like people like the stock platinum plugs and a .052 gap. I would love to modify the car with a SC and headers...but I have old Mopars that need the money. Don't get me wrong I have owned the car since new in 2002 and love it. It will be going back in storage until I can get a house with a 6 car garage. Thanks for your guys inputs.

Hi,
I am the Tech manager for Autolite. We make the motorcraft plugs that are OE in your vehicle. We have even better plugs available for you car, the XP Iridium fine wire plug. Why are they better? They take less voltage to fire and produce a bigger flame kernal in the combustion chamber. I am willing to send you a set for free if you post your results on this forum. If your interested, please email me at Jay.Buckley@Honeywell.com. Before I am deluged, I can only send a few sets out so first come first served.
PS- you should buy coil on plug boots and replace them when you do the plugs. They live in a harsh enviorment and will often crack when removed. The Autolite part number for the plugs is XP104, boots are 50034.:beer:
