Well Jerry if we all put our guns away then the smoke will clear. Take your friend Lido's advise. I have told you over the phone and now I will post it for all the members to see. Zack will be delt with, that is a fact. Now lets pull up a chair and get a cold drink and start talking about our cars, marauders, that is why we are here.

Kool aid or diet coke? Diet pepsi for me. (I am still working)

Jerry, I have said it before and I will say it again, you are one of the FEW
people who helped put the 2003-4 Mercury Marauder on the map. Any one
who drives a NEW Marauder must recognize all of the effort and hard work you put into making the Marauder special.... something we can all be proud of, whether they S/C or not. THANK YOU.

Well, my order is in and another Carfixer/Tallboy install to be scheduled in late January 07 when I return from Korea. :banana2:

BTW...I'm NOT getting the IAT2 installed...

I have an observation. Maybe it's off, but this is the way I've seen it unfold and maybe I missed something.

I first want to say Jerry Barnes is a true gentleman. I do not have a Trilogy and Mr. Barnes has always extended a helping hand with information and pretty much anything you asked of him, and that's over a period of years I don't want that misconstrued.

I acknowledge the problems with Zack and that is, what it is. But in reading the posts Zack hasn't posted anything in this thread(that I've seen) that was out of line or slanderous. About halfway through this it looks as though Bigdogjim closed his account which now appears under his name.


What I ask is, Did Zack get his account closed? and It seems that if it was that it wasn't justified by anything I have seen. If not then I missed something like I said.

If so, it seems way too heavy handed by the new regime and another example(of several) that this place is going to hell. If you think about it this thread has increased hits and interest, which is good for site owners I believe. My own opinion is too many owners want to be chiefs and the editing, deleting, PM's to edit etc. is really overboard

Perhaps it would be more in line if you asked a moderator this question in a PM rather than challenging them/him like this in front of the entire board. I only say that, because I used to be a moderator myself on another board for one year, and I viewed it as being disrespectful when people do what you just did. I'm not trying to get in any beef with you on this. I'm simply saying that your question could've been posed in a more tactful manner via PM. Don't you agree? The moderators of any board don't have to, and shouldn't have to answer to anyone in a public way as to how they do their job. Because none of us see what's going on behind the scenes whereas they do see that. It's their job to run the board, and how they see fit to run it should only be questioned in a private avenue that is directly to them instead of out in the open like this.

If your question is sincere, then there isn't any reason that it cannot be asked in private directly to a moderator. Otherwise, your question can be viewed as being antagonistic in nature. The way that any moderator(s) do their job is not open for a vote. Moderators are rarely voted in, and are therefore never voted out by the members of the entire board. Therefore there doesn't need to be a consensus nor a vote taken on how they do their job every time that they choose to take action. I hope that you can understand my point of view. And I'm also going to post this on the other board as well.Board mods are like referees in football or basketball games. The players cannot and should not be taking votes on the validity of the referees calls in an attempt to change them or overturn them. And if a player in a ball game is disrespectful to a ref, then he gets tossed. The same with board moderators. They're referees. Perhaps it wasn't intentional on your part, but by posing this question openly on the board like this, you're coming across as if though you're trying to push the moderators into giving you an answer, and that comes across as being disrespectful to the authority that they've been given to run the board, and it also comes across as being manipulative. So by asking the question on the board, you call into question the intent and motive of it to begin with.

Please don't take offense to what I'm pointing out to you. I'm just trying to give you a moderator's viewpoint on this since I've been in that position myself. <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

I remember the darkside, when another vendor was going to leave because of things said over there and the dark side got shut down... seems sort like the same thing, exept now the things happened on the main board, not a sub board made for rants...

You folks are right. I do not want to come across as a big shot that has to get his own way. And you don't have to buy my product, but I would like to keep your respect.

I am not concerned how I'm viewed, I have a question and I ask it. If it hasn't been apparent in the time I've been here, I think I have shown the I have little use for anyone here. I use this site for information on the cars and new ideas on the cars not the people. I just see things going downhill and getting faster as it goes. guess I'm next.
 
Re Jerry. I think you're a nice guy, I think it's strange you were jumped on that way, it happened before that a vendor felt wronged, with regard to the sub forum, and everyone was up in arms and the darkside had to go, I don't personally think you were being a big shot, I think you expressed yourself because of attacks, and I can appreciate that.
