Well, OK, so I really DID buy it to replace HER car, so I should be pleased. But- my wife is REALLY starting to like the Marauder. She finally started driving it, and says she can't believe how smooth it is. She has found herself speeding on numerous occasions, only because the tactile/audible sensation of speed is so much lessened over that of the Taurus SHO. Very little road noise, and no discernible body rattles (much unlike the 9-year-old SHO).
So, it looks like she approves of the purchase. Now, I just have to be able to get some more time behind the wheel for myself...
Maybe I will have to look into picking up a silver one, to make a pair...

Stop it! Both of you!

I can't even afford the mods for THIS one much less another!

ARGH!

The secret, is buying used, not new. New they were running between $30-35K. I picked this one up for $20,800, with only 6400 miles on it. When a silver one becomes available through the same channel, I'll consider it.
I used to watch "The Blues Brothers all the time in college. Then, when I lived in CT, I had a "plain black wrapper" CV Interceptor (351W power). 15-plus years later, and I'm back with a black CV-type sedan...

TJH.....

Congrats on having a wife with such EXCELLENT taste!!! She's a keeper!!!

I 2nd that observation about the SHO. Mine was GenIII (1997), and as hard as it may be to believe, the MM has far better "road feel" than it did. My SHO was not a high mileage car, either. I had just put over 60k on it when I traded her in.

Congradulations on having a wife of fine tastes! It's actually amazing how many Marauder owners on this forum actually were former Taurus SHO owners. I myself had a 95 5 speed SHO, and a 99 V8 SHO.

Mac, it appears now that the V8 SHO's are having huge engine issues with the cam sprockets failing on them unless they are either welded or pinned together. I heard that the Marauder engines also have a similar setup, but only mileage will tell.................

I went from a 97 SHO to a 2000 Continental to a 2002 LS V8 to this MM. All were nice cars but this is the one that I will keep. The MM is the coolest car I have ever had. "Chicks Dig It".

I am also a former SHO owner, as I traded in my 95 ATX in on the MM .

I must agree that the MM is a far superior automobile than my SHO in all categories . The V8 rumble and the undeniable cool factor gets this car more admiring glances and questions than any other car I've ever owned !

Got the same damn prob...wife used to hate the "man's car" but I made her drive it for two weeks while I was in Calgary and wehn I got home i had to caveman her to get it back...now she wants one.....I told her to get a job that pays as well as mine and go get one...otherwise its into a new Taurus (aka Sable)

Wow, and you lived to tell about it, pretty nice wife I'd say.

Well, come spring, the Cobra comes back out of hibernation, and that's ALL mine. I tried to teach her how to drive a manual transmission, but the sheer volume of traffic around here scared her. Nearly every road is 3-4 lanes in each direction, and although she got the hang of using the clutch and shifting gears, she was never confident enough to pull out into fast-moving traffic.
So, the Cobra with the T-5 is all mine...
The SHO that is being replaced was a 1995 3.2L/AT, Moonlight Blue/Gray leather. We still have it- the dealer would have given us next to nothing (despite its low -82K- mileage and overall great condition) on trade, so I'll be selling it myself.
Yes, it IS good to have a wife who appreciates performance cars...

Yesss! Once you adopt one, it's over! Forget 'a' bout it!

The Marauder is the wife's car. She picked it over a new GM. She said, "You should have never let me test drive the Marauder." She bought it, paid for it, and even lets me drive it on occasion. Nice lady!
