That's right, the US Army has placed "Boobies" off limits. The Brown Booby has turned up at Fort Story, VA (also known as Cape Henry) near Virginia Beach. The bird is typicallly found in the Carribbean Islands; but recently turned up near the Army post at the junction of the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. It's a pretty rare sighting .... only 6 times in history in the US. Last time was 1982. The Army has put the birds nesting area Off Limits to visitors and tourists. The bird got its name for the way it dives to catch fish and squid. About 27 inches in length or a little smaller than a Pelican. People thought the bird was a little stupid for crashing into the water and hence the name.
Hopefully, not all "Boobie" threads will be :banned: now !!! :lol:
