car wont shift into reverse, stays in first way too long under normal acceleration, and slips out of gear when cruising at 30 or 40 and wont go back into gear unless i take it out of OD. but while driving and its slips out, if i give it a lot of gas i can feel it catch a little.
any ideas? i checked the fluid when hot and seems ok and looks and smells fine.
 
called the dealer, i got 31k miles but car was purchased in nov of 03 as an 04 model so they said its not covered
 
Sorry to hear about that, Sounds like the Valve body is having issues and not holding pressure.
It may be best to bite the bullet and bring it in.
 
well if it seems like its slipping. I would have to say your clutch packs are probably smoked and your OD band is burned. Since I just went through al of this. Mine would go 1st to 2nd and then would go to 3rd and then go right back down to 2nd. and with OD on it would go into OD but wouldnt grab until like almost 4000 rpm. All of the above was SMOKED! sucks!
 
actually i got this guy that rebuilds trannys for my familys bus company and hes gonna do mine for 900. im not gonna beef it up as i am trying to sell it. im driving my other car for now so ill let everyone know what it was when he rips it apart
