What did you do to your car today?

I removed my car's full interior  !!!! (except the dash of course)
The pass seat, the rear seats, the roof, the console, the doors panel, the floor mats and the sound deadening floor too !!! I want to make a weight reduction project the car of course felt a lot lighter !!! I didn't have the chance to weight what I took but I hope someone shim in and figure out how much approx weight I shaved!!?
I know that our cars heavy and that is waste of time and effort but the car is for strip only! It's rarely driven in the street.
Any Idea what is things to remove that is unnecessary for non DD car?

I think you said it best , it's a heavy car , you merely gave a pig a haircut!

Get in touch with Sherminator. He has removed about everything that adds weight and isn't necessary.

You can remove the hvac system, no heat no ac! Ac compressor, make a same diameter idler to replace the compressor pulley

Move the battery to the trunk, get a smaller group size battery, get a smaller fuel cell and move it to the trunk
Move the radiator to the rear of the car
Cut the frame forward of the front suspension and build a chrome moly frame, get rid of the core support and build a small tube frame to hold hood latch and header panel
Remove the dash and get rid of the ducting, steering column and wheel, replace dash with a light weight one, get a collapsible steering column and pin on steering wheel
Get a race seat, manual adjustment
Get some 17x3 1/2 or 17x4 front wheels, put a tiny tire on it. I don't know if 15 inch wheels will fit the front, but a bias ply tire is super light. I use a 15x3 on one of my regals, the wheel and tire are 9 lbs
If you pull the tension springs off the rear decklid, you will find out how heavy that decklid is. Probably not the best to remove excess weight at the rear, but this is a portly b!tch
Start a diet on yourself?
See if 15 inch wheels will fit the rear, same as front, if they won't fit because of the brakes, use v6 mustang brakes, that's what we do on the new mustangs. Use 15x10 or 15x8. 28x10.5 et drags or 28x9 et drags, much lighter than a 18 inch tire!!!
Bumper reinforcements front and rear
Pull all the glass out and use lexan
With all that you've done, plus that, a good 500 pound drop!!!

Helped my mechanic buddy install new air bags, Metco Watts link and Addco sway bars at his shop. Getting the SW exhaust system tweaked for proper fit and Magnaflows installed as well.

I installed Wagner's TrueView head light and fog light bulbs. Did make a difference. I all so replaced all my gauge bulbs with LED's. Much better to see.

He did turn it into a race car once he removed the interior

Jim, leave me alone. You got nothing better to do?

Guess I can play the same game, wait until you post and pick your posts apart, then we both can be children!

It's all misunderstanding I'm sure that Bryan didn't mean it Jim

Jim if that was the truth you would have apologized to me. I'm not going to hold my breath for you to say sorry for always belittling me here on this forum. This is the third time I've asked you not to bother me on this forum

You tried stirring stuff up in the airbag thread with me yesterday, now this and your backing out. Your clearly bashing me by quoting me then being sarcastic and being a smarmy little man, I don't like it and two can play that game. I play real hardball fool. DO NOT TEST ME, mess with the bull and get stuck with the horns

Ok. Now that your saying it was directed towards the OP, why would you tarnish your name here by acting like a immature college frat house beer swilling jack hole? If your going to pick ANYBODY apart here on the forum, wouldn't you use a different username and not make it where people won't buy anything your selling? You act like a jack hole and that's going to make it where anybody and everybody won't buy your stuff because your a selfish jerk?

Do yourself a favor Mr odometer rollback, keep your nose clean and your posts directed away from me and we will be peachy keen!

I'm all for you to get the weight down on your car, I'm tired of jim opening his mouth and drizzle running out

No offense toward you, build a fast marauder, that's the fun of it man.

Took it camping. These trucks are amazing. I fit 2 coolers, 1 tote with bedding, the tent, travel table, 2 chairs, 2 bundles of firewood, the camp grille, and the fire pit grate. Still had a little room.

Let my dad drive the Marauder to the local car show for his 65th birthday. We had a great time. Thankful for a great father.
