what do you guys think of this marauder?

I just want to say I am impressed so far with this young man and his attitude --so far he seems to be handling his approach and his manner with us all quite nicely----carry on --as I am interested how this turns out....Tom

Does this marauder look good? (pics)

Hopefully those of you from my previous thread will see this. Well I found a marauder super close to me. a half hour away, its at a dealership. they want ten thousand for it, it has 111 thousand miles on it. Well my friend just so happened to be in that town, and without me even telling him about it, he was driving past and saw it, and took pictures. Is there anything you can tell from the pictures? Sorry they are not that great, and no interior pictures. I will hopefully get a full video of it this weekend. sorry for the first
(that is not me in the pictures that is my friend)

Looks to be good mine was 10k with 111k miles also. Tell that dealer to park that 1 out of 11.048 cars out of the baking sun. It also needs headlight lens. Call Ron duprat ford and get some info

I already did a few days ago! Scheduled him to call me tuesday. Supposed to test drive this weekend, but its all up to my dad. Funny thing is it wasnt at ron duprat ford, he said it was over at this other dealership that wasnt ford... but they own it? idk something like that.

Dirty
Headlights are hazy
The rear looks high. When mine has been parked for awhile, the rear is usually lower than that. I would want to look at the rear air suspension to ensure it is fully functional.
The body lines look good -- but I am no body man.

Too bad no interior pictures. I would be curious if it is an early 03, with no traction control.

10k does not seem out line for what I see, but that price changes once you see inside, see the engine compartment and drive it.

My dad will be able to mostly tell the goods and bads. Any specific things I should get video shots of and photos?

I dont know the airbag setup very well. They do fail from time to time.

Traction control ... if the car does not have one, you can run the same size on all 4 corners. With traction control, you must keep the 3% difference in tire size.

Your dad is wrench, an for the most part, an engine is an engine. He can check that out, along with tires/brakes etc ...

Personally I'd be hesitant to pay that much at that mileage. I don't think I'd pay more than 8K for it unless everything beneath that exterior is spotless and obviously well-maintained.

I paid 13K for mine with 57K on the clock 3 years ago, for what it's worth...

If that one sells for $10k, mine (104k and cleaner) might go up for sale for a couple thousand more.

Well its a dealer and they usually have inflated prices. I think its overpriced, and it looks like they have been trying to sell it for a long time. Its at the very front of their lot and pretty dirty. I bet its been their for a while. Im gonna work on getting the price down.

what offer should i start at? do you agree that they would be eager to sell it as its possibly been their for a while?

Based on what I see ... I would start at 9, and would not go much above 9. This is assuming the interior is clean, even though the drivers window is down a couple of inches. Also assuming the motor is in good shape.

I find a blue 03 with 92K on her when I was looking in Napa, the sale price was 9200. That was only about 18 months ago.

ok sounds good. Also, just out of curiosity, (this is probably not the best thread to be asking this in lol) what are the differences between the 03 and 04? I have never really looked into it.

Call a bank and ask what is the loan value on this car. That would be my starting offer.

Search the forum. You will find your answer.

Not sure if its my laptop, but Im not seeing "Marauder" in the rear bumper or the cut-outs for the exhaust tips.
Also this car is filthy and I'm not seeing whats worth the $10K with this mileage.

Keep in mind, It may be $10K just for the car then factor in tax, title, registration, plates, insurance binder and by the time you're done this $10K for the car may be closer to $12K. Im also pretty certain the insurance company will wanna hammer a 15yr old looking at a car with a V8 engine.

Good luck with your search, just don't get all over excited because the let down will only hurt that much worse.
