I can understand your excitement about buying a car that you really, REALLY want. I was in the same situation 5 years ago and decided not to buy. 5 months ago, I bought my MM...after waiting 5 YEARS. Was it torture? Not really, but I think I appreciate being an MM owner more now than I would have 5 years ago.

Not saying you should wait 5 years, but take a step back and think about what you are really wanting/looking for (aside from just owning an MM). Like others have said, buying your 'dream car' on a whim and ending up hating it is WAY worse than biding some time to find the one that you want. You got the money and are working hard to get more; there will be MMs for sale...they aren't simply going to disappear off the 'for sale' ads.

After all, the pursuit is almost as exciting as the capture...

true, true. Thats part of the reason im going to go look at it, and have my dad test drive it. I cant, and wont put any money on it right now.

Also this car is filthy and I'm not seeing whats worth the $10K with this mileage.

Keep in mind, It may be $10K just for the car then factor in tax, title, registration, plates, insurance binder and by the time you're done this $10K for the car may be closer to $12K. Im also pretty certain the insurance company will wanna hammer a 15yr old looking at a car with a V8 engine.

Good luck with your search, just don't get all over excited because the let down will only hurt that much worse.

My sister drives a 5.0 liter v8 ford explorer (shes 17) and it works out fine for her(my dad even pays it for her! ill probably end up paying mine) also I could just have it put into my dads name, correct?

So I found another marauder at a dealer near by. Emailed him saying I was interested. He replys and says he will not be selling the car due to damage to it I reply and say I might still be interested, whats wrong? He says "that the bottom is rusty."Is this marauder ruined? Ill probably get a look at this one too, will take photos and videos of it. What I dont get is why would they want 13 thousand dollars for a car that they arent even gonna sell??

Yeah, need to better define "rusty."

If it's just surface rust on the bottom of the floor pans, etc, NBD; if the frame is badly rusted, along with other components of the running gear, that's no good.

Im not sure, He wont say much. Anywho, im looking at another GOOD marauder in the same area this weekend, ill get nice 1080P video of both Marauders for you guys to check out. Would be a shame if this marauder is ruined because of some water :bigcry:

Probably salt water damage. Just don't waste your time with that.

gotcha, and gotcha. The odd thing is that the online ad was posted the 26th of LAST MONTH, and they were asking 14 thousand dollars, with no noting of damage! has 70 thousand miles. hmm... Carfax shows vehicle passed maintenance inspections as well, doesnt note anything about rust.. seems as if he doesnt want someone to buy it. im intrigued now! Ill take a quick look at it since ill be in the area.

Now I am not trying to rain on your parade here buy I would go after a mustang at age 16 befor a marauder.First off the girls don't really know what it (marauder) is and the mustang has more kool factor at your age than a marauder does. For the most part the mustang will be be cheaper to operate then a maruader tires alone on the marauder are $$ and don wear well compared to the mustang.

Buy the marauder when up turn 20-21 hell I sell you mine then I do not know how tall you are but I am 6'6" and the big merc is a pain getting out of because I have to duck down so low. I member once said at a meet when he saw get out " Big Dog does get out his car he takes it off" (Sgt.Mac) So if you a tall lankey kid that something to think about.

It gets old fast. And girl wise, theres alot more room for fun in a marauder than a mustang haha. But I have considered a mustang. thats fine, and understandable. I didnt realize I was in the presence of a female, and never intended such disrespect(although i guess it shouldnt matter which gender im talking to.) sorry, just got used to talking to the boys.

their gran-pa drives a baby-blue or other pastel variant of one (it's still a panther body after all)


I loved the character of my Marauder much more than I do my Camaro, mostly because my Camaro has almost none to speak of in comparison, but I'm pretty sure it got me more female attention in one week than I did in the two and a half years of owning my Marauder. A great deal of that attention also came even knowing I was already spoken for, I can only imagine how it would've been if I was obviously on the market.

And Bigdogjim, you think slinking in and out of an MM is bad, try it with a 4th-gen Camaro or Trans-Am. At 6' even and being a fairly flexible 22 year old I even have trouble.
