What Is It?

On the driver's side of the engine compartment, mounted just behind the headlight, is a small white plastic box that says "Marauder." It has a black tube coming out of the top, and a hole on the bottom. The tube goes down a little ways and disappears under some kind of electronic looking thingamajig.
Quiz for the day:
What the heck is it?

I am almost tempted to believe that, but...
(wish I was more of a gearhead)

It just looks so funny sitting there with a tube coming out of the top, an empty hole at the bottom, and there is no way for me to easily see where the tube goes. There is even a part of the box that is cracked and broken. Looks like the kind of thing that you could take out and never even miss, not that I am going to try that.

What RubberCtyRauder said...take out the air filter box and you'll see very clearly that the hose goes to the RAS compressor.

So air comes up from the Compressor through the hose, into the top of the plastic box and then right out the bottom?

It's a muffler for the air vented from the air springs when the car lowers.

Is that what this muffler does? The black hose from the muffler goes to
The head unit of the compressor, screwdriver pointing to it

I do hear air escaping every time I shut my doors on my marauders

Here is a picture of my spare unit

nope, though my compressor hardly runs, maybe because I replaced the compressor a few years back. I just always liked seeing that little whit piece that said Marauder. To me its interesting to see such an insignificant part of a car be labeled specifically for that car.
