Yep, after 120-125 I started to pull away and when I took my foot off the gas he closed in quickly so I knew he was still on it. I guess at those speeds aerodynamics start to play a factor, wedge (MM) > rectangle (300).
 
i've never been past 125mph in my MM, limiter won't let it go any faster. Was able to get to 150mph in 300zx(twin turbo), don't want to go any faster after that one!
 
This is what my GPS said......ran way out of speedometer!!!:eek::eek::eek:

BTW....it was on a private tract in south GA!!!!:D

148 racing a ZX-6 did not even no I was at that speed till I looked at my gps. It started to vibrate pretty bad at 140 wont do it again I need my license.& a better driveshaft
 
Shade under 120 mph, thats not GPS, just the speedometer in car, NO mods, thought I broke something under the hood ? "RAIN WATER BLOWING ALL UNDER MY HOOD, KNEW THAT WAS DOING MY MOTOR GOOD" :banana: 50'S MUSIC FOR SOME OF YOU !!
 
,,, 168mph on a closed, professional track in upstate South Carolina ... would have been more nut the "pucker factor" caused the driver to back it down ...

145 in my other MM with 3.73's, DR tune, ghetto cold air kit.

158 in my foxbody (thought for sure the hood was gona fly up, doors would fall off, and car would do a backflip from the front end lift)

155 in my wife's cobra with just 4.30's and a tune (that car amazed me at how stable it was)

160 in a 05 Roush with a 11psi Vortech on it.

165 in the LT5'd ZR-1.

130 in this new MM, havn't had time to take it to the proving ground strip yet.
 
About 520mph, give or take a few. Was sleeping most of the time. Even got some peanuts. Even had a beer or two. Most likely powered by Pratt & Whitney. I tell you, my head was above the clouds that day.:)
 
I have only had my Marauder up to 105mph.

Motorcycle (2001 R1) I did 178 and ran out of balls.

Car (street) I was clocked doing 168 in a 55..... fun night. (96 Cobra)
Car (track) I hit the traps at 155... 9.83 run. (90 Mustang... built obviously).
 
Virgil did 186!

I remember reading an article about "Virgil" doing 186 in his modified 2003 Marauder. He qualified his speed with his brother radar gun. Turns out, Virgil ives somewhere down South and has abrother who is a State Trooper.

I will never know if the story was true and don't care. I laugh to this day.
 
140 plus w/410s speedo was pegged, I'd say 150-155 takes a while to go from 120 to 150 but the car was as smooth and stable as can be. Hit 140 in a SHO too. Hit 85 in my 1970 442!
