What's the deal with head gaskets?

From what I understand mod blocks all interchange so head gaskets should all be the same. Yet RockAuto lists a crap load of different gaskets for different cars. Marauders are shown to use same gaskets as Crown Vics and most other 2v and 4v engines. Yet if I look at Aviator and Mach 1 they are shown different gaskets. Terminators, yet another gasket. 97-97 Cobra yet another gasket.
 
I'm running Cometic head gaskets for a Terminator, several coats of copper head gasket spray on both sides and ARP head studs. 20psi no problem!
 
Felpro makes our gaskets. Advance should have them.

Felpro and copper sprayed holding up easily at 26#s and plain old FR head bolts. [emoji16]

A lot of guys used to use silver spray paint on cometics with outstanding results. Maybe cause it goes on thick, i use glue.
 
And the boost gauge settles between the 2 oo in boost at the bottom of a 30 psi gauge.. no joke.. on a buick.
