wheel lug removal

Can anyone tell me how to do this? Is it possible to do it without buying a special tool? The guys at my local Comm. College ruined two of my rear passenger lugs and now they either need to be replaced or rethreaded. I would have to buy a thread chaser from murray tools $20 plus $10 s&h.

No place around here has a M12 1.5 thread chaser unless I buy a complete kit for big bucks. Does anyone have a thread chaser that they will let me borrow or buy from them?

Just replace the studs. $2 a piece & 30 seconds work. Not worth the risk of wheel loss from weakened threads.

if the school did it they should cover the repair or their insurance should pay for it. this is how it is at my school at least if we break something we have to fix it if we cant and no one as at school can then it goes to a private shop to be fixed. You didn't do the damage so why would you pay for it?

A new rear axle is about $80 and comes with new studs, a new set of lugs is in order.

Have they never been taken off or something?

Yes they have been taken off before because they rebuilt the differential. In order to get the car back to them I would have to have it towed in because it is not driveable yet.

Hey guys,Am I missing something here? Is Tallpaul looking for the M12-1.5 chaser for a MM? I thought that we had 1/2-20 threads? Must be for another model car I assume unless someone knows different.
