white marauder

He said the car was left ABANDONED WITHOUT TAGS!!!

He took the time did a search found the owner was ARRESTED. Then he filed the proper paperwork.

How is that stealing??? :confused:

3 weeks is more than enough time for the dumbass who left it there. He knows where he left it. He could have wrote a note on it or got in contact with the OP. How many times do people need their hands held. Funny thing. I remember where I leave my car everyday. Down on my luck or not. Tagged or no tags. A-hole who left it knew where it was and did nothing about it. Snooz you lose.

Go for it OP. Play by the rules and take the MM home!!

LMAO! They still guarantee thier paint jobs up to 60 MPH? I say don't repaint the car, repaint the engine. Shake up a can of High Gloss Ceramic Black spray paint, punch a hole in it with a screw driver, toss it under the hood and slam it shut till it empties out. Repeat until desired affect is achieved.
 
Ed is a stand up guy, he'll do all he can to find the owner. Besides, I would leave it white, after all, it's an urban legend come true;)
 
I believe the original owner of this Marauder once posted on here. Or, at least I remember someone on here painting a Marauder white as I saved the pics somewhere on my computer.

At any rate, nice to see it fall into the hands of the MM.net family.

Although the white does look pretty nice!!!

If someone leaves their vehicle and pulls the tags from it then by most standards that is the clear sign of vehicle abandonment. Also in most states vehicle abandonment is considered dumping or leaving hazardous waste because of all the fluids in the vehicle.
 
Personally I had a rather bad experience in NY with impound and tow companies. Was in a accident that was not my fault. 67 Biscayne. Car towed while I was sent to the hospital. My lawyer told me to leave it in impound.

Eventually when I got the all clear, it was so much money I had to get a loan just for the privilege of junking it. Eventually recovered the money in a lawsuit, but was screwed in the meantime. None of it was my fault. I was just a poor kid in the wrong place at the wrong time. That's it.

This is a different situation I'm sure, but my point is those guys at the tow company thought I was a lying deadbeat.
 
as for contacting the owner i have a full report of the owner from his current address DL # S.S# and other contacts. by law when fileing a tow lein all this info is used to contact the owner so that he can come and retrieve his vehical after paying his bill! im not trying to steal nobody car, im just posting the fact that if this car dosn`t get claimed by the owner after the lein has gone thru,then i have the choice to bye it from by boss to give to my wife to drive. and yes it will be repainted and all lock cyclinders changed. from my report FHP seized his tags for no proof of insureance and he was arrested for driving while suspended.as for the lein it take 37 day from the date filed for a auction date to sale the car and a total of 49 day to recieve the title from the state as long as the requiements have been met by the state of florida to contact the owner to uptain payment for the bill if he dosnt then my boss will own it and ill bye it!

Here I am with the 67. Damn shame. Decent shape. Only a 6 but so cool compared to my mom's 4 cyl caravan.

He didnt take the tags off himself and he didnt abandon the car. The guy couldnt afford insurance on his car, I doubt he would be able to afford the impound bill after he gets out. I know what you are doing is legal but I still feel sorry for the guy. And im sure if you dont someone else will.
