Only 800 or so miles for me. I bought in Boca Raton and drove it home to TN, took a one-way rental car down and spent the night there instead of flying down.

I know a story like this is due to happen to me sooner or later. ;) If I could only have a 1974 Dodge Manaco with a 440 and the money to pay for it.

It's fun for some reason to do that.

It's such a feeling of freedom and accomplishment for all your hard work ; to be able to take a road trip back home in the exact car you've always wanted. Especially during the spring or summer when the weather is nice.

I bought my '04 Comp. Orange Mach 1 in McAllen Texas and drove it home to Savannah, GA. I think the trip was about 1500 miles. It was awesome and I something I had been wanting to do. The next car I purchase will hopefully be my dream ride, a Dodge Viper. I hope to do the same thing with it.
:banana2:

I have done that.I purchased a 79 Camaro,a 68 Ranger pickup and a 68 Buick sportwagon. All at differnt times but I drove all of them back to northern ohio from Sacramento California.I believe it is roughly 2300 miles.:)

Bought a 03 marauder in Minnasota dec '05 and flew a co-worker out from New York to drive it back - 400 bucks plus the ticket and expenses

last week, flew to houston, 720 miles back in my 03 Marauder.

a few years ago, I bought a 95 powerstroke in salt lake city, I flew out right after work, and drove all night, to be at work the next day. (I lived in sacramento at the time, 10 hrs or so)

Didn't fly, but I drove 800 miles to pick up my new Marauder in Athens, TN in Jan 04, and then drove 700 miles in June 05 to pick up my wife's Durango in ST. Louis. Both were fun trips.

I"m hoping to sell via the internet the Porsche Boxster I just bought, and DELIVER it for the purchaser.

He had this one tucked in there, sort of out of sight, and I bet most of you missed it. This was an odyssey of biblical proportions, done in a world class snow storm, and all of us rode along with the AZ traveler and Cruztaker. It was a hoot ....the stuff of movies ...

Twice

Picked up 1996 Ford P71 in Kansas City, MO-drove it home to Bedford, TX.
Picked up 1978 Jaguar XJS in Baton Rouge, LA-drove it home to Joshua, TX.

Both were ebay cars. It was fun.

Twice...

1. Ordered a Porsche 944 in 1983 in Nashville...flew from Memphis to Nashville to get car and later to service it...I obviously didn't like the dealership in Memphis...
2. Found my 2004 Marauder (with 5,000 miles on it) in Phoenix, AZ ...Flew out...drove it back to Memphis...
