I just got a phone call from a guy from this Rock n' Roll Fantasy camp that I went to. He called me up and said "Dominick we need a young guy and we need you on bass." I said sure, but I don't have the money because I just put a supercharger on my car.... exact words. Well he said I would get a 50% discount and asked what I have been up to. I said I was recording and taking vocal lessions and asked him if I could pass off my work to him. He said sure.

The thing is if they want me why should I still have to pay dispite a 50% discount? It's still almost as much as a new blower!!! I don't think they will be making money off me and they just want someone young around plus some of the rock stars said they wanted me back includding Paul from KISS. I don't know about this. If I do it maybe I can really strike it big in the industry because they call and I show.... maybe they are just desparate and want the money. I'm so confusted right now!!!!

What should I do????

Now I see why Paul Stanleys heart rate went up to 190 bpm yesterday, He was stressed YOU were coming back!

I heard it was from too much blow and their just trying to cover it up saying he has a heart condition. Thats another thing I don't know about, but I don't care about that one. I don't even listen to KISS.

Dude... If you're talented and they're interested, they'd of offered to pay you, not the other way around. No different that any other talent agency scam.

You'll keep getting offers to be involved or great exposure at a fee, or another form of paying them to "hook you up".

It's bull****.

Young 'uns will always fall for this ****... There's no shortcut to fame and fortune, takes years of commitment and hard work at the bottom of the barrel and even then, it's largely about being in the right place at the right time... ...and that'll never happen with any sort of fantasy camp or the like...

Ditto.....

eh if they want you that bad.........then they'll pay for everything, there the ones who need u, u dont need them. and another idea, is you can record yourstuff on the computer and e-mail it too them and send it in conjunction over the internet and stuff, thats how alot of musicians do it nowadays

I have no interest in bass playing as a profession. I sing/ play guitar and write songs. These people know I can play bass because I've done it a number of times and this years camp is short on bass players. My mind is still going all over the place.

Listen to Logan, Dom.

Have you done much homework on these camps anyway? Remember, Google is your friend.

I just dont buy it. They have scams to screw the elderly out of their retirement savings and they have scams to screw the young-and-dumb. You're young, but you're not dumb. Clear your head, do your homework, and I know you'll be ok.

Tip #2.

Invest in a good website, it'll take you far.

Case in point, Mercurymarauder.net made me friends in almost every walk of life and built a network of professionals that's invaluable...

Done right, a site showcasing your talents consistently updated will go a lot further than any fantasy camp... PS - It should tell you something that it's a "FANTASY" camp... Heck, they're even admitting they're full of ****. :D

Exactly Logan, that word 'Fantasy' is a big tip off.

Dom you might have participated and had fun the first time, this time they're trying to reel you in.
