Canadian Marauder Calendar

Master, Chader, Madroder...thanks for the generous offer to "take some calendars off my hands", as it were. I have one calendar left now, but please don't feel obliged to buy. Seems like Madroder was really hoping to buy another copy, an you other two were helping me out. If that's the case, I'll just send the final copy to Madroder if that's ok with you two.

Thanks again for your support!

All is good with me!I'm so glad everything has worked out.I hate to see it when someone puts trust out and then regrets it.If I can do anything to help next year let me know....Chad.

So...Any new calendars to be printed....a 2011 run....well maybe a little late for it but how about an early start for 2012?

Yes. I definitely think a 2012 calendar is in order. Taemian?

I'd be up for organizing one again. Maybe January should be Dave's huge garage...his twin screw Silver, his stock Black, and the wrecked black. Throw my Trilogy Silver and your Black inside and that's a full garage!:D

I'd be up for another calendar or two

The problem wasn't really finding folks who wanted the calendars, it was finding Canadian owners who actually took the time to find a decent spot/backdrop and taking the time to photo them decently. The ones who made the calendar pages were good/great, but there was alot of work needed to get there. Many folks sent first pictures, and we had to say "Maybe try again....this time with feeling..!"

Of course, art is always subjective, but taking a picture of your car, still dripping wet from the carwash, sitting on the side of an unscenic road shoulder, with garbage in the ditch behind it.....not the thing to do.

Also, we did try to do a calendar the year after that one, and I think I only had about 4 photos emailed in. Pricing would definitely be different, as I actually lost money due to the shipping costs we charged.

Lots of time was volunteered by various owners for Photoshopping tasks and design layout stuff (Thanks Sully_008 and Peter, and FREAKSTATUS!) so I'd at LEAST want to give these guys a free calendar for their efforts next time. My guess is that a calendar of the same quality as the first run would be about $30 shipped to your door, and I can't see many people willing to sign up for that. Maybe I'm wrong?

Then there were the people who signed up and then cancelled their orders after we printed them...in the end, owners who got their calendar and like them so much, ordered a second copy for the office/garage/friend etc. Amazing folks coming through in the end.

If anyone has copies of the first calendar scanned, feel free to post up here...my scanner was built just after the Commodore 64.

FREAKSTATUS kept the printing price super low, since he's a manager at an internationally known office supply company that shall remain nameless. (But I can tell you that they sell thumbtacks, binders, STAPLES, and things like that...and doing things with him is very EASY ) Without him, the project won't get off the ground. We were DINKS then, and now we're both chasing after little pairs of feet much of the time, so there is the time factor as well. I think people have no idea how much time is needed for 12 simple photos and a layout, we sure didn't!

If reviving this thread sparks interest, I'll bite. The address to send photos to for consideration would be Marauderphotos@gmail.com Depending on what we get, we'll go from there I guess.

READ THE VERY FIRST POST in this thread before sending anything please.

For the record, this was NOT done as a money making venture in any way. All we had hoped to do was create something cool for the community, and break even in the end. We succeeded at one of those things at least!

Yeah Taemian,
Sigh, i followed the initial thread from the first time and all the trials and tribulations you and the crew unfortunately had to endure. I know this was a labor of love or (very strong like) and i applaud your efforts and final product, it turned out really great. (Still have them)

I'm with SID210SA and freakstatus, a 2012 calendar would be cool.

I'm down for another calendar run. I'd like March if it happens. And I'll get a better shot of my car, too.

I still have mine hanging in my office.

I would definitely be interested in a callender.

Please advise if any of the images below are useful for you:

I can edit put the license plate.

Ok, here goes. The car is abosolutely perfect in every shot. Clean, shiny, not dripping wet, no heavy ArmourAll shine on the tires....just perfect.

The first photo is the best, and the reflection idea is spectacular! A few things like the parking lines could be PS'd out, and the plain background keeps the car as the main focus. I'd say it's a 75% photo. The last 3 would need lots of work. Take a look at the mongo oil stain on the ground, people and other vehicles around, and you'll see what I mean about background, foreground, and scenery concerns. Again, the car is flawless, but lots of cropping/PS work would need to be done to those.

Since I want this calendar to be as good or BETTER than the first one, I'll be quite picky. I only want the best shot from and for you guys! I think I'll start a new thread later today entitled "2012 Marauder Calendar" in this section, and we'll continue the discussion there. Please don't post anything else after this final post, just wait for the new 2012 thread. Thank you!
